Just a question:
Why are Warlock Tanks allowed to hard counter every single melee? They have tons of armor, constant self heal that you can’t even interrupt while they will never run out of mana?
It’s seriously unfun to ever encounter a warlock tank in the open world, you literally can’t do anything against them.
I love fighting them on my ret.
You clearly haven’t played a warlock tank yourself. While the armor we get may seem pretty good on paper, in reality it’s pretty irrelevant, since we’re getting deleted by any melee burst anyway. And don’t even start talking about drain. Not only it’s waaay to easy to counter it and literally every other class has a way to deal with is easily, its healing is a joke compared to the burst other classes do.

As a warrior even with mortal strike up, warlock tanks just outheal all of my damage and as they deal spell damage to me, i dont generate rage from them hitting me.
Teach my puny warrior brain how to counter warlock tank.
Mortal Stricke and a few crits and you’re golden. Unless a warlock happens to have a void out for sac and also has a hs and a potion, then I’d say you have a pretty good fighting chance.
I see, a few lucky 200 crits and warlock tank is dead.

I don’t know what kind of gear you have, but warriors crit me for like 500-600 damage in demon form, and I have like 3.6k armor which translates to ~50% damage reduction. Drain heals for like 80 per second, so that’s what, ~300 damage per your auto-attack swing. Divide that number by 2 if you have mortal up (and you should). So i’d say your damage pretty much evens any healing I can put out even without crits. Oh and that’s just auto attacks, but you also have alot of instant abilities like ww, ms and such.
I’m in full pre-bis with some legs from Gnomer and the epic Thermaplug axe. We don’t hit that hard on demon warlocks.
Hell, I’m lucky to hit that hard on priests that forgot to cast inner fire.
Maybe you should try equipping some gear? The only melee you should be losing to are ret paladins and enh shamans.
The question should be: Why are about 90% of the warlocks running around with tank rune ?
Well, let me tell you, I’ve tried everything, including different variations of Soul Link Warlock, and nothing has added enough survivability, in the current burst gameplay, you can only go full turtle mode solo or hide behind your grp.

I was getting globalled by a warrior s few days ago.
He didn’t seem affected by my life drain or my armor. Instantly murdered me.
