Playing as lock shaman vs shaman bm hunter and lost … Hadn’t seen much hunters yet but this one would just feign death on cooldown and I’d lose all my dots on him. Even with UA he’d remove it and take no damage from it? Is this normal? How can we win against this? I had zero pressure that game. We we’re shocked this worked so we kinda panicked aswell. Would like to be better prepared if we face a hunter again. I wouldn’t mind him removing dots if i didn’t have UA on him but if i have UA on him It should punish him no?
Well the lego for feigh death is what causes him to remove everything. Emphasis on remove. Not dispell. The legedary removes all negative effects like a gm comand. Thats why he doesnt get hit by the ua dispell. You cam wait for feigh but it will comeback in 15 seconds. So be happy that hunter is in a bad spot you wont face them much.
Crowwell is right you cannot expect to rot down a hunter this expansion, there is no real counterplay as affliction has no real ways to transition from their dot into massive burst without being telegraphed, and no ways to reapply dots quickly( like soul swap used to)
Your best bet, if you dearly want to get that hunter dead, would be to play with a rogue that can lockdown classes for extended amount of time, so that you can apply dot, if he feigns death you reset if he doesn’t your rogue stuns him and you spam malefic rapture/burn CDs.
More realistically though, since you’re playing 2s, just apply agony on the hunter for shard generation and focus on his partner for the rest, while fearing/hexing the hunter. With night fae covenant, portal, gateway and slow legendary you should be able to stick on a healer with decent uptime. Also malefic rapture and rapid contagion doesn’t need you to be in LoS so there’s that too.
Don’t forget to play imp, removing traps is more important than counter spell here. And use one gcd to cast agony on their pet.
