Warlocks aoe farming at lvl 60?

My warlock only reached lvl 59 before TBC hit, but it was my main in that expansion and I raided with it. I remember a favorite way to sort of AOE farm for me, especially early on when I was affliction, was to just dot up a bunch of mobs, and run around avoiding getting hit and reapply instant or short cast dots. Whenever I got low on mana I just lifetapped and took out 1 or 2 single mobs using drain life until my hp was full again, and then go around dotting and killing a bunch at the time again. Is that a valid strategy for a lvl 60 warlock in vanilla, or was that a lot better in TBC?`

Edit: I accidentally posted this in the technical support forum, and they moved it to this forum. It was intended for the classic class forums. So only reply if you know about how it worked back in vanilla or have tried it in classic now.

Ehm, its pretty much the way you Farm on a Warlock for the last 15 years. I remember doing that in Vanilla too. Although it was in no way as fun as AoEfarming on a Mage.
