Warlock's control - a shadow of former self

For most PvE warlocks this topic will be irrelevant, but PvP warlocks this might be a hot topic our current control.

Let’s just make a brief overview of our control abilities across all our specialisations and our demons.
And i will segregate baseline abilities from those that we can acquire from the talents.
Baseline warlock:
Fear

Shadowfury

Pets:
Succubus - seduction

Felguard - axe toss

All those spells has some major problems.
Axe toss for example, this spell has long travel time, while other range stuns like

Those range stuns doesn’t have travel time, or their travel time lightning fast.
This not only makes axe toss inferrior spell.

Seduction and fear.
In PvE these a re fine spells…mostly. But in PvP, those control effects will break with litteraly 1 point of damage. And this are major problem, because fear are main source of CC for warlock, and in PvP where you play with other players, and things can be chaotic Warlocks too depend on their team mates not ruining warlock fear or Seduction. Class, with worst mobility in game, one of the most pruned classes to date (hello shamans), with most complicated damage and bust rotations across all classes had to relly on fact that warlock’s teammates won’t be an idiots. I’m sure every one of you can share a story how some of your teammates has ruined your fear and you had to pay for that.
Fear should be reverted back to the state, where it could take some amount of damage before it would broke.

Shadowfury - by itself cast time on range CC isn’t that bad, but in current reality, where mobility (active and passive) of another classes are vastly superior to us, cast time on this spell is a relic of the past where mobility wasn’t so common.

Seduction - Again in PvE it is a fine spell, but it could be so much more and better…and we - warlocks need some improvements across our class.
Disorientation effect that can be break with 1 point of damage, that forces our pet to stay for 8 seconds is a bit old, if her seduction was a mind control and worked like some of mind control effects from vanila bosses, it could make succubus/shivarra a more useful pet in PvP.

Succubus: additional things that need to be changed.

It should be reverted back to knockback effect. In current game, her slow doesn’t give us any benefit at all, yeah target could be slow, but casters doesn’t give a crap about that because they don’t need to move in order to kill us. Melee - with their passive and active mobility this slow won’t stop them, and with our zero active mobility we just can’t escape them, or even catch them if battle goes in our favor.

i agree with succubus , we shoul have the knock back and maybe the snare as an extra but the knock back first.

To me shadow fury is not really a “control” you can’t do anything with is current state , Imo it should be nice like Dragon breath .
So you should be able to drop it to secure a fear or another casting cc from your team mate for example.
actually the cast time (again an again …) is so terrible that people can just run out easily and you can’t really peel or do something interesting with actually.

Succubus cc imo should be on another dr (or maybe switch seduction by something else) so you have a really good “extra” to take this pet instead of felguard for example.

It’s actually so frustrating than people like you giving some good and constructive feedback, maybe not 100% but atleast ;try to work on our weaknesses and blizzard don’t take a look at or just give an answer

Imo the cc row should have Demonic Circle removed and made baseline, replace it with Howl of Terror and replace Darkfury talent with Demonic Breath. Make it slow 70% or horrify all targets in a cone for 3 sec, doesn’t really matter.

Shadowfury is so bad in its’ current state, it’s probably the most frustrating spell to use right now tbh. I kinda understand why they gave seduction a cd, 30 sec tho? It’s obvious how much of an afterthought the class design is surrounding pvp in general.

Disagree with this. Whiplash is much better as a slow than it was as a weird knockback.

For me in PvP it pretty much useless, yeah 50% slow…but melee doesn’t give a fel about it, their mobility overshadows all my slows. Casters, well they don’t need to move really often when they fight me. It might be useful when my shivarra attacks EFC, but with her base speed she rarely can get to EFC.

Knockback was useful because you could use it to drop people off cliffs, stop casters from casting spells, or to do other fun shenanigans.

Then you didn’t utilize it at all. Besides knocking people away/off edges and interrupting casts you could interrupt a warrior mid-charge/heroic leap and monk dash with it, or interrupt a hunter’s disengage, knock a dk out of AMZ etc. It won me countless duels vs warriors back in WoD. It’s one of our greatest losses for sure going into Legion, I miss the creativity it encouraged.
