Warmode is flawed, and needs a "swap faction" feature

Warmode is EXTREMELY unbalanced, and needs to be changed.

It seems that 75% of the player base plays Alliance, just like I do. Which means that for WM enthusiasts like me, the world is OVERCROWDED by Alliance players, and has no one to fight…

This means that either you:

  1. Play Alliance, and am extremely bored since there are barely any Horde to fight…
  2. Or you go Horde, and get crushed by the overwhelming amount of Alliance players.

Loose/loose situation… :man_shrugging: Not to mention that EVERY… SINGLE… CACHE that drops, gets taken by the Alliance.

Again… I play Alliance… And I can’t stand that “we win every time”… I didn’t enable WM because “I didn’t like fighting”… :joy:

WM needs a “toggle faction” mode, that can be activated at the same locations, where you can enable WM. :+1: Which allow players to swap the factions that you are hostile and friendly towards. :point_left:

I honestly love the idea that we don’t have to PICK a server, which is “PvP only”. So when WM was introduced, I loved it. But it is still missing a key feature, to allow factions to become more balanced.

And for the trolls who like to read too much into things… No I am not saying “allow Alliance and Horde to swap factions”. I am saying that we NEED a feature, which allow us to simply change which faction we can attack, while in the open world, outside of main hubs/faction cities.

This would allow the player base itself, to balance out the ratio, while in WM. :+1:

This CAN be done, and HAS been done in BFA, when we were able to “serve the old gods”, with that headband thingie.

Why not make warmode free for all pvp - that could spice things up a bit

Not where I live. I’ve not once been to one where the Horde hadn’t claimed it and yesterday was the first time I saw Alliance even try to contest it and they died.

Exactly. Warmode isn’t balanced currently clearly, and needs a new way of balancing it.

Since WM just places people from all servers together into a shard, and “tries” to balance it. I just find it odd that there exists a place, where Horde are dominating?

Maybe it has to do with “where in the world you live”, which causes shards to form “locally” among nearby countries… So if a group of closely placed together countries prefer Alliance, then all shards are Alliance favored…

It seems to me that Warmode tries to construct the instances regardless of faction, leading to a situation where people repeatedly leave and join groups until the entire zone is filled with one faction. Different instances get different factions.

It’s basically the same thing that happened when they introduced paid faction/server transfers, just speed up a hundred fold.

The system should actively prevent this from happening.

It feels like that the final nail in the coffin for the death of horde will be introduction of cross faction random queues.

For a couple of years horde was dominating warmode but lately easing up of grouping restrictions is causing the opposite. Since expansion launch there is absolutely no competition for supply drops and whenever one spawns, there’s tens of alliance players swarming and maybe maybe at best less than a handful of horde.

It’s ridiculous.

Swapping faction is technically impossible at this time. It is not yet possible to do this without breaking the game completely.
Blizzard is still working on figuring out how to cange the code so factions can be loosened up more and more, but that will probably take a bunch of time.

And no, it is quite possible, since we have seen it done in BFA. Not “swapping” percey… But allowing you to attack your own faction.

Oh crap, overseen that passage  My bad :bowing_man:
Yeah this is a solution, true.
