Warning for those interested in "Combining Blizzard Accounts"

Hello fellow Warcraft community,

Today I come with a message intending to shed some light on what happens when you carry out the option of combining blizzard accounts (a.k.a moving a wow license from one battle.net to another).

Since the warning link you will be given prior to accepting the terms is extremely vague and generic with no actual through put into the details of what will happen, I wanted to share my experience so that nobody faces the problems I’ve experienced again. Blizzard will NOT give you the time of day when it comes to restoring issues you discover as I have learned almost a week down the line of opening tickets and reporting issues.

So, what moved over?

  • Character Specific Achievements

  • Character Specific Unlocks (such as the Maw upgrades)

  • Ahead of the Curve: Mounts such as Violet Spellwing or Uncorrupted Voidwing etc. (Very surprisingly)

  • Character Specific Mounts (for example Deathlord’s Vilebrood Vanquisher)

  • Inventory Anything that was inside my character bags/banks including heirlooms!

  • Currency Gold and individual character currencies

  • Cosmetics Some transmog items including those I earned from challenge mode in WoD, special edition shadowlands mog set and all those my characters had access to via in game storage.

What didn’t move over?

  • Torghast: Twisting Corridors progress - this means the layer eight run you did will reset back to one, this will need to be done again.

  • Ve’nari Torghast upgrades - these upgrades are account wide and CANNOT be re-purchased on your main character as I’ve learned, you will have to start the maw dailies again from scratch on a fresh character, support haven’t and still refuse to assist me with this issue.

  • Threads of Fate - You will no longer have access to this feature as it is tied to an account wide achievement, you will be required to create a fresh character and go through the whole process of the storyline again up to and including the first chapter of your covenant campaign.

  • Cosmetics - Any cosmetic items which you do NOT have in any of your characters inventories will generally not be transferred over with you, with the exception of a small number of things that are rewarded from quests.

  • Store purchases This includes collectors edition upgrades, store mounts and pets. These will not transfer with you, but I’m told they may be able to assist with restoring some these in certain cases, as long as both battle.net accounts were under the same name and proof can be provided, but I’ve still not heard back about these yet.

  • Mythic+ Data My main characters mythic plus details we’re reset upon consolidation. This means my i.o has been reset to zero and I have no history of completed mythic plus keys.

  • Honor Level - Your honor level will be reset to zero unless you have an honor level on the destination battle.net account.

My experience and do I regret it?

At first I was extremely happy and accepted the terms of consolidation advertised on the account combination page, however as the days passed and I was playing my main character I started encountering multiple issues as to which none have been assisted via support.

The information page is quite vague and generic and doesn’t give you much detail on what will happen. This made me feel it would be trivial problems so its all okay.

If I had been aware of the very depth of things that would happen after account consolidation and the amount of things that would quote on quote be broken I would have not accepted terms and continued with two separate battle.net accounts.

I do not advise this service to anyone, and in my experience blizzard will NOT assist you with repairing any losses, issues or problems you are facing as a result of the account consolidation.

TL;DR: If you don’t want to start your account and Shadowlands experience entirely from scratch, don’t use the account consolidation service.
