Be extreme careful for what you saying in chat in SS, and I advise you to record your games.
Because if you try to distrupt wintrader operation their community will abuse automated report system to chat ban you, and even mild bad langage will be enough for GM to carry ban.
Let me explain what happend: I got my account silenced for couple of days because I used “bad language on chat in SS” , first of all I dont even understand reports for bad language because profany filter is turned ON by default, so player must turn it OFF to even see bad language, so by turning OFF player willingly want to see bad language, this is why I simply cannot understand report for it at firstplace but OK… how someone can report something which he willingly accept to see…
After ban I asked GM to tell me what bad language I used and I got a list of 3x “incidents”: And I was shocked:
I commented following: (all this happend in SS)
“**** spam purge button” - I said it in comment of enemy shaman healer, the guy which broke his keyboard by spaming purge button and lost the game, so I didnt offended him directly because he was enemy healer which is against me, but his buddies (wintrade clients) was angry because they lost a game and they reported me for commenting their healer which is supposed to carry them
“OM*G” - is this even offence with profany filter feature?
“Kill the retr” - there was guy in group with me who lost me 3 games without a single defensive ability, I was commenting this when this guy was against me, when we call for targets, I admit i was a little frustrated, but I didnt offend anyone in group with me nor the person directly, but his buddy(for wintrading) was in that time in group with me and he was not happy how im calling his friend as target. Offcourse he played like glad when he was against me.
From now on Im recording all, you shoud do the same, and I will try to be polite as much as I can, blizz really need to look into automated system abuse.
Profanity filter just hides the offensive words themselves, does not diminish the feeling of having been verbally abused.
You can’t rationalize being toxic, because someone turned it off. Most people turn it off so that they can report verbal abuse, not because they like to read it.
On topic:
As for the reporting system, it’s bad and is being abused. Best to only use emotes in solo shuffle chat to be completely safe, especially if you suspect win trading.
Yeah they got you good sadly and abused the reporting system The same can happen in other games. I got a 10 day chat ban on league of legends because 2 of my friends reported me each time after about 3 games just purely for banter
If a GM listed those x3 incidents, personally I’d see if you can make a ticket and protest it. Probably won’t be able to but that super sucks that happened to you
As others have said, just don’t bother typing. It isn’t worth it until Blizzard get their act together, and if someone /w you abuse , as tempting as it is, just report - it auto blocks them and go next
Edit- What good is recording your games doing to do? If the CS / GM reps review and make the decision to ban you, do you really think they’re gonna review your gameplay footage to prove your innocence? I mean they should yeah , or make better decisions in the first place with a much better system.
To be fair I’d say Blizzard is bad at balancing their game but the community makes the game equally bad. Botting, wintrading, scripting, fotm rerolling. I’m equally disgusted with 10.0.7 changes and players beuavior. If WoW community was normal we would have 10% Rets in the ladder not 30%. Since 10.0.7 I played some RSS and in every of them there was at least a single Ret.
It’s not working fine at all. I have seen screenshots from people that got banned for saying “hello”. The system is automated and bans you after a certain amounts of reports. So if you have enough friends you can abuse the sht out of it.
On paper I used bad language, but one who turn off profany filter cannot pretend to be saint right?
All I said there was commenting guys who was not with me in time of commenting, I never directly offended the guy who do grudge to me, but their wintrader partners reported me in their defense. Im just sad I dont have video to show blizzard how they care to each others in SS (where they shoud not even end to play together) , just to counter attack them for wintrading, but from now on evry game will be recorded…
If you get reported without using bad language you will not get banned, or at least you can lift off ban via appeal. In this case OP clearly ruined other player experience with offensive language, silence well deserved. Try not blaming imaginary wintraders and be more positive in game. I bet you dont alllow yourself 1% of what you typed irl
How I can ruin other people experience when guys I was commenting about wasnt even a present in time of typing (They didnt see what im typing about them, but their buddies reacted), buddies in SS and that can only mean one thing… Why shoud you care if someone says something bad about guy who not even play with you, unless its your buddy…in SS there shoud no be buddies, buddies in SS means wintrader company.
Sentence I wroted included some mild bad language, but if you turn profany filter off, why shoud someone complain about bad language which is not relevant to you.
BTW wintraders are reallity, people buy their services like they buy bread in store, and when they get you to 0:6 you need to win next 3 games to start gain ratting again, so damage they do to you is insane punishing. Even if you get into wintrader company evry 10th game, you will feel the pain

Besides no this is not how leagues punishment system works. Your friends dont matter at all as the reports are counted by game not by numbers. So those 2 reports count as 1.
2nd Leauge needs ages to punish someone for using rather hard language. Even stuff like gc or kys will not result in instand chatbans.
As I understand, system work like this: people can report you for whatever they please, when enough reports come in, GM will just scan your chat, and if he find any bad word you said he can carry on silence ban… which basicly means you need to be saint and never use bad words, because if you used any bad words ban will be caried, regardless where and when and in which context this bad language is used. And people with great community can abuse the system, or simply report you to something if they dislike something. And very few of us will be clean, because we are not holy pope who play the game. Bad system if you ask me , very easy to abuse.
In my case I used bad words yes, but I never attacked the player directly so he actualy NEVER seen those messages, all I said was not when guy was present, and it was all “comments” to situation this guy did, so this prove that any bad word in any situation no matter where and when can make ban live once enough reports are gathered, so we need to be saints, to avoid automated ban system.
