Warrior Charge Bug – Missing Minimum Distance is Breaking Gameplay

Hey everyone,

I recently noticed that Charge no longer has a minimum distance requirement, and while that might sound like a good change at first, it’s actually causing serious issues—especially when using the Double Time talent.

Personally, I’ve always used a macro that casts Hamstring right after I charge a target. The problem now is that without the minimum range restriction, it’s very easy to accidentally use both charges in quick succession when trying to apply Hamstring. This effectively wastes one of your charges and can leave you without a gap closer when you need it most.

Back when I played Mists of Pandaria originally, I clearly remember Charge having a minimum distance requirement, and this issue didn’t exist. It feels like a bug or an unintended change that needs to be addressed.

I hope the devs can take a look at this and consider restoring the original minimum distance mechanic. It made gameplay more predictable and allowed for more reliable control.

then get hamstring out of ur macro, they changed it on purpose for pve purposes, dosent work in pvp anyways

The only issue - there’s no bluepost about this change, and retail had charge minimum range till like war within as i can see, so it’s kinda hard to say if this is intentional or bug - i mean i can imagine them making a change to hunters to be able to use their abilities in melee by like searching all the abilities with minimal range and removing it, and tapping charge by accident

Honestly, that’s a pretty silly take.
So you’re saying I should just remove Hamstring from my macro and somehow find another free keybind for it? Come on — warriors already have a ton of binds in MoP, and every slot counts.

Also, this change feels much more like a bug than something intentional. It doesn’t make sense from a gameplay or balance standpoint.

And really — how exactly does this benefit PvE? If you can explain that part clearly, I’m listening, but right now it sounds more like an oversight than a deliberate design decision.

Warrior charge is bugged according to the original poster, and it becomes gamebreaking…

People debate Harmstring, you know … the " real burning issue " hahahah

i honestly hope they keep this for PvE as charge weaving is pretty lame, but ofcourse there should be a minimum charge distance for PvP

What can we do to actually get Blizzard to notice this and fix it?
This kind of change , whether intentional or not… has a real impact on gameplay. How do we bring proper attention to this so it doesn’t just get buried?

They changed the charge requiring 0y thanks to dented takes on class discord, yet this should’ve never gotten added to solve rage issues in MoP, they needed to passively buff rage gain overall rather than making DPS warriors be reliant on charge for rage.

This is incredible…is this for real ?

Next thing you know they remove maximum range on Chaos Bolt XD

That’s interesting, but if this was really changed because of feedback like that, then it feels like a very clumsy solution to a different problem…
Removing the minimum range from Charge just to tweak rage generation ends up breaking core gameplay flow, especially in PvP. It creates more issues than it solves.

If rage generation was the concern, they should’ve addressed it directly… through talents, passives, or just tuning numbers, not by messing with how fundamental abilities function.

And seriously, is this forum post even worth sharing if devs are taking direction from random Discord channels instead of the official forums?
If this doesn’t get fixed, I honestly won’t even bother finishing leveling my warrior for MoP — I’ll just go back to Classic and wait for TBC.
It’s frustrating to keep seeing Blizzard make changes that feel disconnected from what the actual player base wants.

This could never have been proposed by a reasonable PvP’er… ever, least of all in MoP where warrior is at its peak in terms of oppresion and dominance.

It sounds like something straight up out of the brainrot of some lowly warrior who has no understanding of PvP and the game as a whole.

I can imagine them making the case for it in the discord already :
" :nerd_face:Yes but actually, it changes a lot of things on my heroic boss parses jhuhuhijhihihihxin
plz blazurd do somthing thanks"

Consequence :
You can be mini-bashed at 0 yard range in Pvp, whilst warriors already have double interrupt and stun Dr on other spells…
Terrible…

Found this post about the topic from a few weeks before

CHARGE is bugged. on warrior, please fix - WoW Classic / Mists of Pandaria Classic Discussion - World of Warcraft Forums

Apparently it’s only active in outer world areas and pve. Is it though ?

Dude… I’ve read through the comments and honestly, some of these takes are just wild.
People are seriously claiming this issue doesn’t matter because world PvP and dueling “aren’t real PvP”? Come on. That’s just nonsense.

World PvP and duels have been part of the PvP scene since the very beginning of WoW. Just because you personally don’t engage in them doesn’t make them irrelevant — a huge part of the community does, and changes like this directly affect those experiences.

And saying this change is great just because you no longer have to “run back a few steps” to Charge a boss with a massive hitbox? That’s just lazy design logic. Fixing PvE convenience by making PvP worse is not a fair tradeoff — it’s just bad implementation.
