Warrior Dual wield leveling?

Levelled this warrior as an experiment all the way in battle stance with 2h. Started the fights with tc+demo, then spammed heroics/cleaves. That actually worked out good. Survivability is enough to fight 2-3 mobs of your level. Gear-wise it’s the agi prio (:tiger2:, :monkey:), which gives you more crits, dodge and armor.
Dualwielding you gonna miss much though there’s a “not a bug” stuff that your OH swings don’t suffer dw hit penalty while hs/cleave queuing.

Basically it’s all about Sweeping Strikes and that sweet extra 5% crit for axes. If you can be bothered with keeping your gear up to date, you can regularly pull three mobs and cleave them down. Much faster that way.

He’s in raid gear… Fury is great in raid gear…

During leveling, you are not in raid gear…

During leveling, fury is inferior to Arms…

Do it if you want, but leveling a warrior is a gruelling experience to begin with, even worse if you do it as fury.

Here’s a good reason: Whirlwind and MS are dependant on weapon damage. Weapon damage is higher with a 2H than with a flimsy one-hander.

Also the arms tree has much more useful talents to pick up during leveling.

Dualwielding gives a natural +19% misschance on your autohits. “For balance reasons”.

Rogues and huners suffer this as well when dualwielding.

2H as fury does NOT give an extra misschance penalty though. The poster was saying that you naturally already suffer a high miss chance, and it’s simply worse when dualwielding.

Tried all 3 since the beginning of the game, I would personally say go Fury 2h to lvl 40 then switch to Arms/fury for Mortal strike.

When you have reached 60 you can customise your character as you want, leveling in classic can be a slow business especially as a warrior, so I would not handicap my self in that way.

I think it’s something to do with hit rating, but i’ve been leveling as 2h and it’s worked out well enough - and if you tank enough your wep skill for 1handers is kept up just purely through dungeon trash mobs

next question: as a Human Warrior, is it counterproductive to use a sword while levelling when compared to an equally good axe, due to the +weapon skill as it means less dodges to use Overpower against?

Not really, for max efficiency I suppose it would matter on a minimal level. But your gear changes so often while leveling just grab a big heavy slow 2 hander and smash away

It’s just brutally slow because of how much you’ll be missing. You’re a night elf too which means you don’t even have access to buffed weapon skills that humans / orcs do. I personally went from 1-40 as 2h fury, fairly simple stuff. Went to arms at 40 and played until about 55 or so when I went to 1h fury and started collecting hit gear.

It’s basically just down to miss chance affecting rage gen so significantly. That’s all.

Go 2hander all the way. level with a 2hander and tank with a 2hander. Sweaping strikes with a good 2hander does so much damage therefore so much threat. duel wielding while leveling is for plebs. Don’t make that mistake.

Afaik there’s a pretty spicy meme going around rn where if you have Heroic Strike queued up, your offhand cannot miss regardless of hit rating.

Try it out, decided to test it out myself after hearing about it a lot and seems to check out.

Would make DW super dumb even at level 20 if you just spam HS. You’d just have to make sure your offhand is significantly faster than your mainhand so you can maximise offhand damage within the HS windows.
