Well look at this “pvp tunning” and tell me, considering all whats going on in pvp right now, that nerfing shadow priest is #1 priority.
And i dont even think that damage part of volley is the issue.
The void volley is disgusting, not sure if that really addresses the entire issue but we’ll see. They still do bonkers damage with other talents.

ret damage is still a meme, dh damage still a meme, one minute convoke still a meme. Good start, but lets hope more last minute changes join these patch notes.
The warrior nerf seems pretty reasonable considering that intervene+die by sword is basially a physical immunity for 6 seconds and now it will have some more tactical approach and you have to time it right to get the stuns and big burst frames like the hunt however…
Why arent they nerfing ferals, rogues and hunters? Like I get the intervene nerf, I get the shadow and mage nerf, but what about other OP classes? Rets?

Ret burst is fine just trait all 3 min cds and survive 1 min until his next go

Odd to see it nerfed in priority, but Blizzard works in mysterious ways. Hope rogues, monks, hunters and druids (all specs) follow suit.
Its a bit odd because Devouring plague damage has been consistently nerfed since 9.0. Started from 150 %spellpower, now its, what, 37%?
Of all the things that are beyond broken, all 3 of those abilities probably not even in top 10. I mean what about DH, BM, WW, Ret, Feral?
As someone rightfully mentioned, you have to trade 3/5 min defensives in the first 10 seconds of the match (and even then you can still die) or you get globalled.
Heck, I played with different DCs this couple of weeks, and it happened more than a few times that either priest or me (also cloth) die in a stun 100-0 with Pain Supression ON.
In vacuum intervene nerf is fine, skill was really strong everyone can agree, but it was keeping other unbalanced things in check too. Problem is that other things aren’t addressed.
So true nothing dying! however, i think the kill opportunities wont change at all. The biggest problem is problem ret pala warrior and shaman for example, the ret healing same amount as shaman. Won’t change… still no kills. Warriors that play with a hybrid use intervene as gap closer 50% of time anyway. LOL
Shadow Priest is actually super strong right now, btw.

No, the damage is not the issue - the CC spam is.
How can you say Void Volley damage, which is freaking random and only on melee range, is the issue, when you’re a Retri, with Final Reckoning hitting what it hits currently while not being random and while being ranged

The Hunt one shots is another thing that still needs to be addressed tho. just like plenty of other stuff.
It’s hardly a nerf anyway. We use it for CC spam not damage, it does no damage unless you have insane rng
Maybe, just maybe, they shouldnt have removed the most picked talent (Lasting Plague) and given us an rng aoe talent that makes no sense and which can change the outcome of a game based on rng

I disagree with you. Imo, both are the issue. I have witnessed a Volley hitting me for 5k, so there’s that.
It is not even melee range. And even though you are right in that it is random, it spawns so many pools which all have more than decent area of effect. The damage in itself is also quite disgusting. The spammable cc which doesn’t even share DR with itself, even more.
Me, playing a Ret, equals I should not hold an opinion over other specs? “Dumbledore” indeed, I guess. What does my spec even have anything to do with what I said/posted? Also, I have already made my opinion on the current Ret iteration clear enough several times. Not my fault if you cannot read.
Except for that previous season, during which it got nerfed literally 4 times, I guess.
