Which is more fun with and without current performance.
I mained warrior for most of BFA. I have most classes at max level. I find that the classes I like the most currently are Warrior and Paladin.
I played fury warrior most time of BFA and really enjoyed it. I saw it as my main and I hoped that I would stick with it. I played warrior at the start of Shadowlands and still enjoyed it. Had some struggles with Torghast which was annoying but I survived it. I got bored of warrior because I couldn’t survive. I died alot when leveling and questing in general. I wanted to be able to heal outside of hitting the enemy. So I thought I would level a paladin.
They had plate and 2H weapon which I like. I was much easier leveling. I smashed the mobs with wings and I healed from 1% to 100% in one WOG crit. It was awesome. While leveling ad playing dungeons I already outdps my warrior by a lot. It was fun. It’s so nice to be able to self heal without being in combat (hitting an enemy with warrior). But I keep wondering if I should play my warrior.
I really like the fast playstyle and that they always have something to press. They look really cool with two 2H axes. I can be a Orc, currently my favorite race alongside Tauren.
Warriors have an easier and better aoe rotation imo. Just precc whirlwind every 2 abilities.
I really enjoyed warrior in BFA. And I thinking of that when im playing my paladin and I get so excited to play a warrior. I also think they are really cool lore wise even if they have no magic at all. So many important wow characters are warriors and many of the characters I like the most are warriors aswell.
I like that paladins have much survivability and can solo so much. They can 1v1 which imo warriors can’t atm, or I can’t with warrior.
But warriors are fastpaced, always press something, I can be Orc, dual wield. And I like warriors much in the lore even if they have no powers. Orc warriors are like vikings. And being a swede I have to live up to my ancestors
Should I just go for in game fun or also liking the asthetics of the class?
In your opinion if you don’t think of current performance which is more fun?
Buffs come and go but enjoying a playstyle is more permanent. If you enjoy war, go war and hope things will change throughput wise.
As far as I hear Fury plays well In SL I just that they get very little bang for their buck numbers wise.
I enjoy both, but I find warrior DPS specs more fun than Ret. Ret just bores me to high heaven. Without an obnoxious amount of haste it just feels way too slow. I actually have more fun and success doing my torg runs as holy and becoming an invincible HoW spamming machine.
Performing well is fun. If you are declined because your class is not “meta enough”, then you will have a harder time obviously.
If you want to M+, go either paladin or warrior. They are not great this days, but I have seen a few, so it’s not impossible to push keys with them. 10+ ? You will start to struggle a lot more to find a group, but again, not impossible.
Warriors have 2 dps specs, paladin only 1. Take that into account.
But I think you want validation to play warrior. They are not doing great in PvE, but they scale well with gear each xpac. Just go for it.
which is more fun?
Both are fun to me. Fury is nonstop slaugher, Arms hits like a truck and feels deadly/precise/heavy. Ret has utility, this “I’m invincible” feel, and hits like a truck too. The more haste, the more fun tho.
It depends on you. And as it comes to survivability it also depends on the player who is playing that class i have seen good and bad paladins, same with warriors. So just going based off an a class is not an ideal choice for it. You should stick to what you enjoy the most. Personally as a warrior i find heroic leap to be fun since you can use it to get to certain places fast with paladins you cannot do that. But hen again when paladin is in trouble just bubble and hs out. So both have ups and downs.
Fun is subjective and most things stop being super fun once you’re used to them.
I got bored and quit Ele after 2 weeks into SL. Other people have been loving the spec. If I told those people not to play Ele because I disliked it they’d be missing out on an amazing spec for them.
Paladin gives you 1 spec. Warriors gives you 2. Assuming you’re a DPS main that is.
If you’re unable to reach the conclusion yourself, then just go with logic and maths.
Two specs over one. You’re bound to find a spec / talent build you enjoy with Warrior.
But to give my opinion because it might help, Warrior in PVP is a lot of fun. You can either be a solo Juggernaut, a flag runner, or a team player. Lots of mobility. For PVE I’m not really sure. Generally I feel like I see more Warriors in raids.
