I really like the new warrior talent trees. Yeah there are some stupid things that should probably be changed but overall I feel its really good. There are some nice choices to make.
The thing I am not really sure how to feel about are warrior stances. There are probably some people who are happy to see them back, and I dont mind them, but the way there are implemented just feel a bit bad.
For example as a Fury Warrior I will be forced to take at least one more stance, or I literally wont be able to progress my tree further. And if they didn’t change something in DF, using stances cancels eachother out (even though it doesn’t say that except for Defensice stance which says that it lasts until cancelled). So I get Berserker Stance baseline, and if I pick Battle stance, in battle I can basicly just pic either one or the other. But their buff is so minor that it really doesnt matter. I don’t really see many players switching stances in battle to get a slightly different buff. And while Defensive Stance can be usefull for any warrior in some situations I dont really see the point in both Battle and Beserker stance if the thing they do is really similar.
Like auras, stances are just an out dated mechanic. I would be happy aboot glad stance though but as it turns out, Blizzard does not want to reintroduce that.
Yeah, galdiator stance would be nice as it brings something different.
I believe just having 2 stances would be enough. One battle stance which increases damage and one defensive that decreases damage taken. They are complitely different and in some situations you will probably prefer to give up some damage to have more survivability, while sometimes you just need as much damage as u can get. Having 2 damage stances that dont do anything much different from eachother just doesnt make sense. Yeah they do decrease duration of different negative effects on your character but I dont really see many people switching stances because of that.
All 3 stances looks good for pvp , idk how much they will impact pve. Sitting in berserker stance and taking defensive stance for survivability is the most they will do
Never liked stances, was glad when we got to stay in one for a whole fight. Swapping back and forth just to battle shout, intercept or whatever was tedious. I get the logic behind it and all though that’s pretty cool but in practice it felt crap.
I don’t like the stance dance either. It makes sense for the class fantasy, but I don’t like how it plays in WoW. They brought them back because people wanted unpruning, same with pala auras, slice&dice etc. Auras I like though.
Stances could be good if they were accompanied by the character literally changing his stance. Just so that we knew things are different in the field. Just like the monks with their now-gone Crane stance.
If you think this is really important than here is a short story.
I started playing WoW when I was like 10 years old and one of the first things you need to do is pick your characters name. I spent quite some time trying to think of something that sounded cool and something that sounded like a hero could be called. One of the things that poped in my mind was the name Pandemonoum. It poped in my head because of the game for PSX also called Pandemonium. And I basicly added another “n” in my name just because the name “Pandemonium” was already taken. And from that moment I started naming my characters Pandemonium in basicly every game. Before that I used to call my characters “Presto” from a game called Insaniwuarium Deluxe.
Back to the main topic. I dont really mind stance switching for warrior, but if they really want us to switch stances the switch needs to feel miningful. Switching for 5% more auto attack damage to 3% more crit is just lame and really useless. Stances should feel mininguf and they need to buff complitely different things in order for warriors to do a switch mid fight
