Hey,
With the Scarlet Enclave tier sets being out for a while now, I wanted to provide some feedback and make a case for some much-needed changes. Right now, the set doesn’t work well with Warriors as a class or even with itself—it feels underwhelming and disjointed.
Current Set Bonuses
The 2-piece bonus, which allows Cleave to strike one additional target, is a very minor buff to our AoE damage. While it’s not a huge concern since it’s just a 2-piece bonus, it feels uninspired and becomes obsolete with the 6-piece bonus in the same set.
The 4-piece bonus, which increases Mortal Strike, Bloodthirst, and Shield Slam damage by 50%, is where the biggest issue lies. Bloodthirst currently makes up a very small portion of our overall damage. It’s mostly a button we press just to trigger the Fresh Meat rune buff rather than a meaningful part of our damage rotation.
The 6-piece bonus is a great and much-needed change. Each time Deep Wounds deals damage, it reduces the remaining cooldown on Whirlwind by 3 seconds, while Whirlwind deals 50% increased damage to targets afflicted with Deep Wounds. This finally gives us a way to interact with our cooldowns and rotation in AoE cleave, making it a welcome addition.
Proposed Changes
For the 2-piece bonus, while not critical, a more useful change would be to have Mortal Strike, Bloodthirst, and Shield Slam refresh Rend duration. I’ve noticed you already implemented this effect on the dagger set, but it’s not a significant buff—just a quality-of-life improvement. This effect would be much better suited as a 2-piece bonus, allowing the daggers to receive a more interesting effect instead of just a minor convenience.
For the 4-piece bonus, a much more engaging and fitting effect would be:
“Whirlwind always hits 4 times.”
This would allow Whirlwind to hit four times on a single target. If there are two targets, it would hit each twice, and if there are three or more, the damage would be split evenly. This change would make our single-target rotation far more engaging by turning Whirlwind into a core ability rather than just a situational one.
Why This Change Matters
Right now, most of our damage comes from queued Heroic Strikes, auto-attacks, and a Bloodthirst that feels like nothing more than a buff button. This results in Season of Discovery Warriors feeling worse to play than their Classic counterparts, where Bloodthirst timing and damage actually mattered.
By making Whirlwind a consistently strong ability, this change would provide Warriors with a much-needed hard-hitting skill while maintaining synergy with the 6-piece bonus. The class would feel far more rewarding and dynamic to play without breaking balance.
I hope you consider these adjustments to improve the Warrior experience in Season of Discovery.
Thanks for your time,
