Warriors how do you do it? (PVP)

I mostly mained warrior in most expansions and I know their strenghts, level 25 definetly is not made for warriors when it comes to PVP

But with SOD and the addition of runes I cannot help but feel blizz (purposely) forgot about the warriors

Most if not all classes have gotten a few IWIN buttons when it comes to leveling for sure and they greatly help in PVP as well. But what about warriors?

And apart from a few flat dps increase runes and slight increase in rage gained there isn’t much in the way of new abilities, abilities like the ones other classes have gotten which can basically just be spammed.

So far it feels any fight where I miss/parry I am basically already dead before I can even start do anything

Anything rune related just smells like PVE DPS rotation and apart from warbringer there isn’t anything I look at and think yes mmmm PVP

Not to mention some runes like warbringer for instance seems like an insane grind to get

I have had the most fun with Warbringer + Cpnsumed by Rage + Single Minded Fury.
I think 2H is near unplayable in PVP, but with this setup as Dual Wield you can at least have a nice uptime on the opponents. Go for Improved Overpower and Deep Wounds, and then just use your sticking power to DPS down opponents with your very nice DPS.

which is interesting considering the fact that 2h was the way to go on era.

Yeah but Era wasn’t ever limited to level 25.
I expect 2H to be the better choice once lvl 40 hits.

Funny that you mentioned that, yesterday I decided to help a fellow war vs a lock in OWPVP. Joined in as he died and lock was at ~25% hp, hit him once with raging blow (I had my pve runes), got him to ~20% just to execute; missed. He feared me, healed up to 50% hp, feared again, healed up to 80%, I died. Skill issue, I know :smiley:

Get where you are coming from, but its phase 1, we aren’t going to be 25 forever
In the case of warrior’s I kinda prefer that the runes are more “bonus” centric as opposed to new abilities outright because honestly the toolbox was never a department the class lacked.

The core stuff on the way in phase 2 is massive on its own merits
Zerk stance, zerk rage, intercept, pummel, ww, reck/sw and then of course access to 21/31 pt talents more notably SS/MS but expect there to be some fury DW/BT about too

And we’re not even talking about whatever additional runes are to come… we’re also yet to see how power creep is going to affect the various new builds/styles

With single minded fury giving +10% movement speed DW seems good for solo/wpvp for sure. Doubt anything beats mortal strike effect for BGs, unless they give every class a healing reduction ability again.

But I am just seeing blizz making the same mistake that led to the chaotic retail PVP, everything does damage even the utility. Or damaging abilities that also do a bleed, or massively boost damage.

Quick draw from rogue next to a slow it also does above average damage, my slow hits for 5 damage…

There is more abilities like that there is just no reason for something that is utility to do that much damage. It’s the one button abilities that have a TLDR tooltip are just bad for the game imo.
