Warriors need an ability that costs no rage

I loved the original era warrior playstyle, no energy no mana just pure raw power. But SOD is WOTLK/Cata at lower levels and the current warrior just doesn’t fit into that at all.

We have nothing to press without rage, every class can just start putting down damage from a standstill and not just damage they can burst right out of the gate.

Warrior still sorta works with a group behind them but so do other classes, and even with a group the rage simply isn’t there until we reach later stages lvl 60, and SOD isn’t just 1 end game, so what gives?

Between

  • 2 min duration Battle shout 10 rage
  • 2 min duration Commanding shout 10 rage
  • Hamstring 10 rage
  • Mortal strike 30 rage
  • Slam 15 rage
  • Sweeping strikes 30 rage
  • Disarm 20 rage

There is a lot of rage we need to even use any of our abilities, by the time we got 30 rage we gotta decide what subpar ability to use while in that same time most other classes have used 3 GCDs worth abilities all hurting a lot

It’s simply no fun when you also count the fact that missing, parrying, dodging = no rage. We did Grubbis and my first 3 attacks missed, yeah what great fun is that, no abilities to press for an entire 10 seconds.

I dunno

  • Make slam no rage cost and generate rage so we got something to do before we die
  • Generate rage slowly up to 30 when out of combat
  • Stance dancing should keep 50 rage instead of 25 with talents
  • Sweeping strikes no rage cost

We need rage to do damage how weird is that huh?

I am always 100/100 rage when I play, only bad thing this rage irl and not in game

Just rage better

An attack skill with rage generation would be neat. Something to do between the 2 week hit timer. Maybe a stacking buff, max 3 stacks, 5 sec timer. 1rage per sec per stack, 3 sec cd.
The charge bloodrage opener isn’t really that sustainable…

An active resource generator / spender type of gameplay sounds pretty fun for warrior. Could also be a good way to buff the bottom end of warriors while keeping the top end in check. But I think that’s too much work for old man Blizz.

Self-Flagellation - You hit yourself for 5% of your max health in order to build up 5 rage. Can be used repeatedly. Gives a 5sec buff where you are not considered to be in combat if you aren’t yet and you will not lose any rage for 5 seconds.

Slow Boil - Once your rage fades out of combat down to 25 its decrease is slowed down by 500%

that happens once every 3.5s and it has 75% of failure (miss/parry/block), in short - warriors are dogshiet rn and getting erased by literally every other class in pvp

Shouts should generate rage instead of spending rage. When I’m shouting I generate rage. It’s obvious but not in wow… make battle and commanding 30 sec cd and make 30 rage. We can’t even buff before fighting. It sucks as hell

Ye the most unreliable ability out of them all

Charge your target, miss auto attack that means you gotta wait another swing timer often 2 before you can even do mortal strike. That’s 7 seconds of doing nothing sometimes even 10.

When that happens you lose part of your soul

This week on Grubbis I missed 3 of my first 4 attacks that was great fun

Do you have any hit rating? It is not normal. Casters work the same way BTW. If they miss, it’s zero damage

Well it’s kinda hard to come by hit rating especially for PVP as you gotta mix and match leather/cloth to even get any % hit. Missing is sorta part of the era experience unfortunetly

Casters rarely miss though? Plus when a caster is casting in that time some other instant has had time for it’s cooldown to tick down so you can follow it up with something at least

For a warrior a miss on auto attack is no rage so also no answer after the miss, you simply gotta pull that slot machine handle again

It would be like a warlock having to cast Chaost bolt and when it misses you are forced to first cast another Chaos bolt before you can press anything else.
