Who are the Blacksteel Fangs?
The Blacksteel Fangs are a warband of the Warsong Clan, who value skill on the battlefield above all. Lok’tar ogar. Victory or death. But no longer at the cost of their own honor. The warband is named after its general, Khrova Blacksteel, who gained her name during the Draenor campaign against the Iron Horde. There, she lost a very dear friend to the war, and to mourn her death, she started wearing a dark tinted armor, very uncharacteristic in comparison to the usual red tones of the Warsong.
The warband does not only train new recruits and lead offensives into the battlefield, but also guides new clan members or clanless orcs into getting in touch with the Warsong Clan and its traditions, while also adapting to the new way that the chieftains have envisioned for the Horde.
Why the Warsong? Because, next to being one of the biggest clans, they are to me the most interesting clan, and they have gone through the most ‘character’ development in the past. And after being nearly completely ruined by bad writing, particularly of Garrosh Hellscream, I find that this legendary clan finally deserves redemption.
Why only one clan? If we were to make a warband for orcs of all clans, it would make it kind of hard to include a focus on the more cultural side of Orcish society. It would be possible, sure, but for a single person like me it’s too great of a challenge to realize such a project. Instead, I focus on the Warsong, and I hope that this might inspire others to follow suit.
What are your goals?
Our goal is to put a spotlight on Orcish roleplay again, mainly focusing on the plot aspects of the most recent expansions, because I’m absolutely convinced that Orc roleplay has so much more to offer than what the negative stereotypes would let on. I want to provide an inclusive place where roleplayers can explore these new aspects of Orcish society and culture.
Of course, we don’t want to claim any exclusiveness in terms of Warsong representation, which is why the guild is first and foremost its own warband that, on a second note, can also aid in cultural endeavors.
Immediate goals are trying to recruit people, find our rhythm and, if necessary, revise some of my ideas. Down the line, I plan on doing all sorts events for socializing, military training, missions, dungeon crawls or festivals.
In time, I also want to collaborate or participate in events with or by other guilds.
What kinds of character concepts do you look for?
It is a guild purely for Warsong Orcs, including Mag’har, regardless of origin.
We are actively looking for:
- Clanless orcs or orphans who want to join the Warsong
- Soldiers (of any class archetype, excluding deathknights! Warlocks will have to be checked case by case)
- Artisans and peons
- You?!
Any OOC rules?
We expect maturity from our players, but at the same time we also expect a certain willingness to be passionate about the characters and the stories we’re creating. Both of these aspects are not mutually exclusive. Overly negative people, or those without any passion, might not be a good fit.
Furthermore, I want an inclusive guild where people can feel safe to express themselves, so ultimately, there is no place for bigots in our midst.
Who do I contact?
Me! And I can be reached on Horde on Khrova, Kadasha or Oshgora, via in-game mail or whisper.
We do have a Discord server for members, but that is not necessarily obligatory, although it may be very helpful.
At this point I want to add that I haven’t lead a guild in quite a while. If it seems like I might have forgotten something, I probably have. In that case, or if you have any questions, criticisms or suggestions: feel free to reach out in-game!
For the Horde!
