Some say he was mind controlled by the Legion
Others say he took frostmourne to try and control the scourge
others say he was a psycho since he wanted to purge stormwind
I saw him as a guy dedicated to good but with a lot of repressed anger and hate in him.
When he took frostmourne it did affect his mind but because he was already wanting the power deep down it took a different hold on him than it would someone else.
So to me its both.
But thats my own ideas and not in the cannon as far as I know.
Arthas was a good guy originally but his arrogance and impatients made him âplayableâ. He was slowly âpersuaded by the dark sideâ so to speak.
It was a great char. But his actions were bad.

I think he was good in the beginning, but after being corrupted by Frostmourne, the evil just overcame him.
He was good, he tried just to save his people. The reason the scourge havent killed us all back then was the little âArthasâ that still was alive inside the Lich King.
