Was fist weapon fury warrior a thing?

Hi, I’m pretty new to wow (been playing a few months with several alts). I was wondering, before titan’s grip was baseline, were there fury warriors running around with fist weapons? Are/were there enough fist weapons with a strength stat in the game?

Yeah there were definitely times where warriors had fist weapons! Before WotLK titan’s grip didn’t exist, and fury warriors had plenty of fist weapons to choose form. Even in Vanilla there were some fist weapons (Claw of the Black Drake spring to mind), ZG had some with a set bonus for having both (Thekal’s Grasp). These were also times when higher ilvl didn’t mean higher DPS. Having strength on the weapon was one thing, but there were plenty of weapons without strength on it at all (or any primary stat for that matter), and some agility would still provide crit/armor. Although taking it over a rogue would be frowned upon I suppose. And then in WoD it was optional for fury to wield two 2-handers or two 1-handers. You would get a flat damage bonus for wielding 1-handers as fury, although I think it wasn’t very popular to choose.

~ Sorry for the many edits.
