My password changed. My authenticator was taken off. This all wasn’t my doing.
I had a email notify me of this. I instantly was able to recover my account and change my password to a brand new one and reapply an authenticator.
This isn’t normal?
Should I be doing something following this now?
Do a full virus scan of that computer, and any other computers you log in to Blizzard from.
Change your email passwords/authenticator.
Check your email filters (to make sure you’re not forwarding emails to an unknown account).
Yes you are hacked go reset your password again and add new auth again asap preferably from another machine that is not potentially infected with keylogger or other malware.
I’m stupid.
So apparently I was using an old authenticator they were retiring.
I was sent email about it, but never really acknowledged.
Anyway yeah, they took it off because of that reason and they reset my password for me to change.
Turns out I panicked.
At least some good came out of it and I doubled down on security and renewed some passwords which were old and did a thorough check.
