Just wanted to add, this isn’t the case. DPS having their group filled was very very slow even at the beginning of this expansion. At least that was the case before i took a break right before they released the second raid tier.
well, even as a dps i never saw it as an issue from the start until now. and it is the end of the expansion. like, literally.
Really? Thanks for informing us, Sherlock. Point is, you said that this DPS problem rose up because it’s the end of the expansion. Which is not true. Facts. This problem was always present from the beginning for a solo DPS. However, nothing can be done about it. OP should indeed roll a tank or healer and help fill these dying roles.
well? didnt seem quite so obvious to you, watson.
i never said such a thing. dont put words into my mouth, thank you.
i said its the end of expansion so of course its even harder to get a spot in a m+ group due to various reason like less people playing, dps vastly outnumbering healer and tanks as usual, standards of some people have risen for lower content because they just want to go through it quicker etc.
so, do you have any facts then? or is this just your opinion?
Oh, let me reword. I meant, “this isn’t the case” as in, this isn’t something new, that’s just happening because we are nearing the end of the expansion. I experienced those problems as a solo dps myself right before the second raid tier.
Literally, the same thing. But ok
well i never claimed that its something new, did i?
literally what i have been saying all the time.
what i
have
been
saying
all
along.
dunno what your problem is but we seem to be on the same page then, sorta?
I would’ve like the system better if there was an ingame judge system handing out points for avoiding damage and doing mechanics like interupt counts and such?
Not the thing that people are doing now, entering a +10 / +11 with retarded amounts of corruption and then seeing them die because healer is unaware of someone getting wrecked by their illusions?
I’ve been in a few parties myself where some a-hole (a tank most of the times) was getting their butt handed to them because of bad traits or corruption and then just left after a few pulls, because you know… healer sucked ofcourse. (like it was their fault they failed)
Also fun, the tunnel dps retards that stands in ten different kinds of poopoo and then keep complaining they die.
Or when they fail to interupt, not to mention the one i had last week where i asked a druid to also do explosives which he responded to me as: “i can’t one shot them so i won’t do them”
What’s also a lot of fun are the bolstering / bursting weeks when they don’t understand what’s happening?
Sanguine weeks where it’s easy to avoid it most of the time if the tank knows how and when to start dragging mobs, also some of the best things.
The judge system should also take that into account, but you know what will happen right?
“Marked” players will have a bad rep which would lead up to not getting invites anywhere anymore, and most likely make them quit.
So i think this is something Blizzard would never do, so you’re stuck with a broken “competitive” system where everything < +11 keys are tunneling like mad and then throw a temper tantrum when they die or key would most likely deplete.
It’s not all negative though, i’ve also had parties where everything went smooooooooth as butter.
I don’t consider raider-io a good thing, though the “competitive” aspect what players are looking for lead to a toxic environment where bad players can trigger bad losers.
Not telling you i’m a really good sport, because i am not, not by a long shot.
I can take a few bad keys at times, but then i really need a cooldown period before i go on a rampage.
I can only see getting it worse next expansion, though i felt hyped when i heard about the rogue like tower dungeon if that is still a thing?
I definitely agree with you on most points. It would be nice if it awarded points based on doing mechanics and all of that but i think it would require a very intricate system unlike Raider IO. Raider IO is just ripping info from the WoW armory, and it basically boils down to “me smash key number go up”. While what you suggest would be great, i doubt a third party addon would be able to provide such in depth info. I think Blizzard themselves would have to integrate that into the game. But i’m not a programmer so what do i know.
But i’d rather have Raider IO than not with the game in it’s current state.
Best bet is join a mythic+ community, easier group access allows you to build score then you can try pugs.
DPS are out through loops though. My DPS I run keys on has alright IO. Not stellar, but enough to say I’ve done keys in the 8-10 range. His ilevel is 460 so I need drops in the 10+ range yet I get declined keys 6/8 often. People are pickier because they can afford to be.
Whereas on my tank last season I very rarely got declined. I think maybe twice? Even when my ilevel was 10 or so shy of what drops in the dungeon. I never actively worked IO on him and got groups fine. Whereas on my DPS I’m trying to work it and it’s harder, but it’s due to role spread, and not much can be done about that, so guilds and community are the best way.
Yeah guilds are always the go to answer for WoW end game. I’ve refrained from joining one since i pretty much quit a couple weeks after the launch of BfA and even now i play the game on and off. Sometimes i’ll go a few weeks without playing and i’m definitely prioritizing all the new games coming out now like Doom Eternal, RE3, Nioh 2 etc. This expansion just really isn’t my cup of tea what with all the layers of RNG and overwhelming amount of busy work and Pathfinder crap etc.
Hoping that Shadowlands is better, but my hope is fading for every day that passes with no word on the Alpha. I think what hurt BfA the most was that it was rushed out the door and didn’t get a proper testing phase and i believe that Activision Blizzard will make sure the expansion gets pushed out the door in 2020 whether it’s ready or not.
RIP AND TEAR! Fun game i love it!
Purchased #2 from the start, waiting with this one till it’s a bit cheaper, 'cause mainly i sink my time into this game.
Still think it looks good and if it plays anything like #2 this is pure gold for horror survival fans!
Think the whole corona thing going on at the moment is the main culprit?
I’d rather have the devs survive and be safe with their families than be sick and miserable or worse?
Sounds alot like the WoD expansion, let’s not hope for a replay of that event…
I mean yeah of course, but i have a feeling that no matter what the cause for delay is the activision suits are probably gonna want to see their profits as per usual as soon as possible, and they are not exactly known for their compassion and understanding when there’s money to be had.
It’s not hard. What’s harder is finding a tank, if you don’t want to tank yourself.
Oh yes indeed Craptivision only cares about shareholders, their CEO has made that pretty clear to be honest.
Also everyday that eyesore of a product they call a game on my launcher, they even added new garbage to it recently.
Their CEO has said he wanted to take the fun out of making games, while not only did he succeed in that i think, he also does quite well taking the fun out of their games in general.
Turning my favourite company and games into nothing more than pure casino games where people can buy their way into everything as long as they make a profit.
I’ll probably keep playing as long there’s no better MMO that comes along i guess, i’ve played a few but none were quite as good as WoW is, even in this deplorable casino state.
I’d expect nothing less from a coca cola edge lord ruining a good company though, look what happened to Apple?
It’s hard to queue for high keys as a dps too.
On my warrior I’m at 2.2k+ rio, with over 60 timed +15s and above.
Yet my queueing experience is declined, declined and declined.
It’s the pug world, if you don’t like it just do your own key or join a community
I don’t agree with you.
I played almost all through Legion as a dps. And I mean only dps.
It was alot easier to find groups/make groups as a dps back then.
I think it’s because of two main things. Legendaries and the bigger ilvl difference between tiers.
well, i dont agree with you either. i have played dps in legion as well and have a different experience. agree to disagree.
Agree to disagree.
