I remember that in Metin2 you could choose different Channels on your Server depending on the load. And this was 10–15 years ago (if not longer). How can it be that in 2023 you have an 1-hour queue to log into your server when this utilization was 1000% foreseeable?
Because WoW classic they servers that ran at capacities seen back in orginal vanilla? Retails server capacities are quite abit larger.
Also channels weee once one of many things doable. They wanted cross play. The game simply took a different route. However no it wasnt more modern lol
Live WoW doesnt have queues really.
While WoW classic will because they replicated seever limits at a size suitable for the era of orginl WoW. It dont run on WoWs modern stuff
i guess that the pity is that on blizzard side it will looks like a success : we had so many player that our servers were overcapacited in the first hours and during weeks !!!
I guess they focus more on numbers than on players satisfaction
Mentin 2
Poor man MMO. That is what was and is, Mentin 2. A pathetic game.
Channels in Mentin 2 are somehow layers, but different, meaning way less features than layers. We have around 10 layers now, but there is infrastructure limits + internal decisions about how many layers are “enough”.
But is clear you have no idea what you are talking about so … don’t know why I spend this time to explain to you. A person who gives Metin 2 ( ) as an exemple, positive (
) one, is a player with not so many understandings of servers and such.
Think its more to do with the issues.
New thjngs in WoW tend to explode for 3-4 weeks then go quieter.
So u either launch 7 servers to appease the entry, and later on have everyone screeching for the next 2 years that their servers dead, or ended up the opposite factions dominated.
Or launch less servers 3-4 weeks of screeching about overcapacity and when it quietens down everything normalises.
Blizzard cant really win.
Handing out free server transfers doesnt fix problem A either because everyone will pick the same server and u will have 1 overfilled server and one dead option.
This has happened everytime blizzards tried this realistically.
