Waste of time

I want the game to waste my time, but with all the ‘‘New’’ content updates ive realized that all this game is and has been doing for the past 8 months is waste my time in ways i dont want it to waste my time. There has been nothing fun added to the game, legion tw stuff sucks, raid sucks, m+ SUCKS even more i dont know who is picking affixes but man u are a terrible person. The only time i enjoyed wow was when i was not playing wow.

Then don’t play WoW.

Seems like a break from wow would be good. It is allowed to just stop playing when you dont like anything the game has to offer. Lets hope 9.2 can offer you something you like

At least on mobile games you can turn on autocombat and automove and the game does the chores automatically. These chores, grinds, time gates, are put in games to appease investors. The least Blizz can do is port WoW to phones so we can just click “do my covenant dailies” and leave the character for 30 minutes to do them on his own.

There’s nothing wrong with autoplay for boring content.

Hi.

Sorry the game isn’t for you. I hope you find a good game to suit your tastes

GL.

Nailed it. I don’t understand why people cry about doing something they don’t enjoy doing, when they could just not do it.

I kinda get it. If this was about a single player game that’s bad from the start you’d be mad you paid 50 euros and try to get a refund, then move on without thinking about it ever again.

But with an mmo that has been around for over a decade it’s different. WoW has been a part of my life for over ten years. If I think back to certain periods in my life like college or meeting my gf who became my wife (and now expect a child with), I always have WoW- memories as a paralel.

I remember giving up studying on a particulary spicy anatomy exam, said screw it, jumped on my bike in the bitter cold December weather to buy Cataclysm. I’ll remember that bikeride and first hours with the game forever.

I’ve seen WoW change so much, and while some stuff is great like mythic+, other changes hurt. My main is my char, my mount/pet/transmog collection I’ve built over the years that also have memories attached to them.

It makes people unable to just let go. I once heard the expression “you never quit wow, you just take longer breaks each time”. While I don’t think it’s 100% true I don’t believe that people who quit won’t someday get a piece of music from a zone stuck in their head, maybe feel a bit sad/nostalgic and feel a small tug inside. I know I’m being dramatic (it’s late, sue me), but it’s true.

WoW had an impact in many people’s lives, too much to just quit forever without a second thought.

Take a break or quit or whatever. I personally have been enjoying the things you said suck.

take a break, you don’t have to play every single patch/expansion.

Every person deserves to speak their mind here and share their criticism over the game.
The fact that the game dropped the mark is undeniable and with an attitude like "if you don’t like it - don’t play it ‘’ wow will forever remain it’s crappy state.

Any project needs it’s fair share of criticism, without it, no improvements or growth would be possible. If blizz fanboys can’t accept that fact, then I’m afraid forums and the internet is not a place for them. If modern blizz devs themselves are not capable of dealing with criticism, then they are in the wrong business.

Like it or not, but customers vote with their money, and even before lawsuit against blizz, wow lost more than a 40-50% of the player base during the pandemic, while rest of the gaming industry shows growth - that is the clear sign of how people are unhappy with the state of the game. And now, the situation is even worse.

Actually with “if you don’t like it - don’t play it” you raise chances of wow becoming as you like because if ppl don’t like the game, they don’t earn money.

However I absolutely hate when somebody proclaims it as an advice to a criticism of a game.
It’s absolutely fair to criticize what you dislike. And when somebody keeps replying with “if you don’t like it, don’t play it”, it feels that they’re actually saying “if you don’t like it, don’t criticize it”.

Whether person plays or not is completely up to them. Nobody is in their position to tell them to do so or not to do so. And person can express their criticism freely as well, whether they plays or not.

With the game design approach of modern blizzard it is hard to hold criticism over aspects of the game.

You look at class/spec design - we had better design in the past, it is only fair to criticize modern design and highlight it’s flaws and ask for better changes.

Modern design of world content - yet again, we had better content in the past, content that had more depth, appealed for different groups of players (pvp/pve), and had a better thought process behind it.

Modern WoW story… well look for yourself, people in general are not happy with pretty much any aspect of modern wow story, from characters to storytelling methods.

MoP had it’s flaws, story for example was not my cup of tea. But my god, class/spec design, pvp - it was way better crafted then things we have now. And it is actually sad, because instead of evolution of the design, we have stagnation on the verge of full fledged degradation.

Like every other Xpac, the Forums during MoP, were full of peeps criticising it and saying it was the end of the world (of Warcraft)… and anyone who played it as current content knew exactly what to expect from the Forums, when Blizz introduced Vulpera.

WoD enhancement was the best iteration of enhancement I’ve played. Elemental in MoP was excellent, I loved it. Did my challenge mode as elemental, together with a feral druid. Getting solar beam from symbiosis was fun as well.

Can’t say anything about resto as I didn’t really play resto frequently until WoD when I joined a few raids in a guild I was a social in and healed mythic dungeons and then skipped out when the Legion pre-patch introduce maelstrom, I hated it. Only started playing shaman again now in SL(and prepatch) and I kind of like resto, enhancement I’ll probably like more next patch than current. I hate elemental because of maelstrom.

I totally appreciate what you are saying. And what you say here is very true:

I didn’t enjoy the thought of going to fight space demons in Draenor and during Legion, so I took a break during those expansions, and didn’t whine about it. In fact I enjoyed life and travelled the world.

One day their nostalgia will come back and they’ll find their love for the game again.
