Wasted 25K on Heirlooms, leveling was not faster AT ALL

I did it again, I fell for the horrible scaling and thought oo well with 50% xp it must be better to level. So 25K upgraded them to 120. I hit 120 yesterday and my feelings said to me it was not faster. My /played supported that. Now in the US there’s a thread how you pay 25K for actually 8 minutes longer leveling.

Even the simplest things are broken due to this horrific item level scaling, how do you possibly plan to do a level squish Blizzard? I kinda want my 25K refunded, gonna write a gm ticket I suggest everyone does the same.

I also used the 7th legion 10% buff and darkmoon hat 10% so 65% for me, still took 7-8 island expeditions per level. Point being this graph shows how horribly scaled they are.

Yeah i got a level in about 7-8 expeditions without any looms…sadly you wasted gold on looms

Same on my other toons. I made a ticket, don’t think I can refund them but it would be nice since they were of no use apparently.

All part of the plan to phase Heirlooms out of existence.

We knew Activision no longer liked the idea of levelling being faster (I wonder why that would be…) when they decided to nerf them. Citing PvP and ‘twinking’ imbalance when they could’ve had templates when using heirlooms.

The only thing I’m surprised about is that it took this long for someone to notice we’ve paid thousands of gold for a placebo effect.

Is not about a herlooms is about the experience… Leveling is dull bullsh*t and blizzard failed make that process part of WoW

have you even tried WoD ?

So it’s actually faster?

Some of those azerite pieces boost your damage by what, 20-30-40-50%? So not having them is obviously gonna make you kill things slower and each level will take longer so only 8 minutes slower is not bad.

If you look closely you would see I played quite a lot during WoD… but in WoD you can reach max lvl in 10hrs play time so it was not such evident because you rush that.

Didn’t you quit?

Sorry breaking to you but if you can fly you can get max lev in 2/3h :stuck_out_tongue: I did it.

I dinged a rogue uhhh 3 days ago? IDK how you leveled but it def felt faster with heirlooms through dungeons.

I speak about 0-120 (0-100 in WoD ofc)

you don’t think it could be that youre psychologically relying on the 50% and do less xp earning things because of that?

yknow, like passing by a pet battle, node or archaeology cos you think to yourself “nah I don’t need to do that, the 50% will take care of the xp im missing anyway”

This whole ‘expose’ doesn’t take this sort of thing In to account, I assume.
The 50% is there, it does work and it also (possibly) causes you to not do the max you can do to get xp. The down side is, of course, that blues of a current level will always out power them … which of course will always be curtailed by you having to get blues of the current level. In the end, you will spend more time grinding blues constantly … so the difference in gear level will mitigate any benefit you get from grinding them constantly.

As a major altaholic, I can tell you that the levelling process is a lot quicker cos of looms if you don’t shirk things that give you xp. So you have wasted your money if you concentrate on farming blues or doing islands/instances only to level. You have not wasted your money if you do everything to get xp,
You level quicker in the world, doing nodes/archae/pets/questing/5mans/pvp and everything else that the xp bonus applies to.

Its a simple logic … you buy a 20,000 euro machine to cut 200 foot tall trees and then use it to trim your hedges. A waste of 20,000 euro, yes.
The xp bonus must be used to its best to show profit, otherwise its a waste.
That’s the logical fact that desmephisto doesn’t see

I found it faster to level with heirlooms, mainly because i have a route through Zuldazar and I was nearly max level by the time i finished.

Whereas without heirlooms I’d have to do all of Zuldazar, all of Nazmir and a lot of Vol’dun before hitting max.

Data shows it’s actually 8 minutes slower to level with heirlooms.

yes but that data is utterly corrupt as ive stated above.
I have 46 120s now and I can tell you with 100% certainty, it is not slower with heirlooms unless you focus completely on instances/islands … and if you are focusing on them, youre missing out on a quicker levelling experience.
The data is NOT accurate, logical or something you should be listening to.
instances/islands are NOT the quickest way to level. Not even close.
