Nope. Nothing extra meaningy or special about August in any way, shape or form :eyes:

December is the special month, Hogwarts: legacy release apparently and I’ve been waiting for that game since before covid was a thing

It was a poor choice of words (unless for marketing, as Starney suggested), as it’s rarely used by anyone really. Though maybe Blizzard really likes the word, we have the August Celestials and all

Maybe that’s the clue, the next xpac involves a return to pandaland :smiling_imp: world of warcraft mists of pandaria 2

So Mogu will rise again? And new lands, which are unexplored yet?

I appreciate that English may not be your first language but as well as being the name of the 8th month of the year august also means respected and impressive when used as an adjective.

They are not talking about the month but about the fact that the adventures will be impressive.

It depends on your audience and age I would guess. I have seen it used quite a few times over recent months as it is quite a common word in newspaper and magazine reviews/articles.

It’s my native language and I consider myself reasonably articulate and well-read; however, this use of ‘august’ is not one I have ever seen or heard before. It is such a bizarre way of phrasing it and I think it probably was to spark discussions such as these.

I have to admit that I have seen it a fair bit so I had not thought about the possibility that Blizzard were actually trying to be clever with their usage of it in this context. I’d not seen it as bizarre at all.

However, if you look at the bright side, if they are now intentionally using clever word play in their marketing strategies things may be looking up as to the quality of their other productions. (Not that I actually believe that this was anything less than an accidental use but then I am a cynic)

the infinite dragonflight absorbs the celestials and is corrupting the rest of dragonflights. we have to stop them by going to alternate universe and stuff

What if the Sorting Hat doesn’t place you in Slytherin, tho?..

I’m a Ravenclaw so I’d be ok with not being placed in Slytherin :grinning_face_with_smiling_eyes:

I feel ya brother. I’ve had some run-ins on here already and I’m sure there will be more.

On one hand I’m super excited, on the other I’m bracing for bad!

I think every WoW fan thinks and feels the same :smiling_face_with_three_hearts:

I’m indifferent. Don’t see a point in getting hyped for an announcement, but I always like a new expansion.

Who cares, the game is bad anyway. No more anticipation. It will be the same old things and the same old reasons.

I really hope all the attention is given to the expansion, honestly.
I’m going to be really disappointed if a big chunk of the time is taken up by stuff unrelated to 10.0.
