It feels strange watching my beloved game put into slow death, it really feels strange… All the memories slowly fading away, and what’s more strange is that I like this feeling… This feeling of acceptance…
I don’t know how long I will play, but I will always cherish all the memories made before 2015-2016, and not these newer memories since WoD… I don’t know how is it for many of you, but I kind of accept this downfall for WoW and I will just ride it forever. Casual BGs will satisfy my needs for gaming, as I don’t really enjoy gaming anymore, can’t stand new games, well, there is some high level of excitement for new MMORPG releases, but nothing holds on to it. Other genres do not excite me at all…
GL and ty for reading, give me your thoughts as well about these new changes and one click buttons.
WoW was great during tbc and wrath times.
During these two expansions wow turned into something thats been talked on TV regularly.
Now the game looks like diablo copy for me where you spam m+ till you die and its all instanced.
0 interaction between players other than the instanced gameplay.
I don’t like it yet it feeds me to go through my life untouched by anything, like if I belong here… And every time I want to quit it feels like some mysterious pull brings me back into it, no matter what, I think I will keep playing until it’s done. I enjoy random BGs queues and that’s all I care, some story is nice, but same as any singleplayer game, it is written badly. I didn’t even enjoy rdr2 story and everyone talks how good of a masterpiece that game is. Rarely I do enjoy story in games, because I see the truth that movies can bring much more emotions than playing games, and this is true. So I keep playing video games for competitive gameplay and fun like that (or social aspect like MMORPG chats), but this social aspect is long gone in WoW, but I still see it present in new MMORPGs. This is why I still have high hope for MMORPGs and will keep trying out every new mmorpg hit. Sometime, someday, there must be some new mmo to replace my old habbits of WoW, because I see clearly that I can play MMORPGs for longer period of time, however for any other genre, I am sure that I can’t.
When talking about story in single player games i can argue at least for OG games.
I played gothic 1 and 2 which are so old but still to these days have one of the best story so far.
The problem nowadays is that blizzard is trying to come up with new story in short amount of time and thats what leads to bad rates. Same for most other companies.
Idk I just don’t appreciate it, because I know if I watched a movie during this 1-2h playtime, that I would enjoy it much more, and it would bring many more mixed emotions within me during that time, and it tells story in proper manner, unlike video games where you get to play game between big story happenings, so that’s why I can’t enjoy video game story games, because I know that there is better quality if you want to experience this kind of entertainment.
For me video games are for social-internet aspect, and of course, competitive gameplay mixed with advanced technologies that will amaze you in some way.
This change impacts just a minority that most people have never really put a lense over, i wouldn’t think too much on this change as a automated rotation will never keep up with new meta
Speaking as someone here since tbc, the game has had worse additions, like solo shuffle and bgb so
problem is that they are making fools out of some of the players. this company likes to make fool of us and I accept that. I see that I am a fool for still giving them money after all these miss-used years. no matter what, when I find game that will satisfy my MMO needs, as soon as I do find it, I will drop WoW for good. It takes just one game to do battlegrounds properly the way I like it, and progression system the way I like it.
This is just Blizzard trying to port WoW to Console. And they use “new player” and “casual” as an excuse to do so.
So they begin by doing it for them now. And if it somehow works and performs, they will simply transform this 1 button macro into key “X” of the Playstation and they are ready to go.
Sometimes the kindest thing you can do is pull the plug and let the poor thing log out in peace. Think of it like releasing a raid boss out in the wild after 10 years of LFR abuse.
You won’t find anything. Iv’e scrolled every Steam page like it’s a holy text. It’s all remakes and reboots.
IRL is the new MMORPG. It’s got insane graphics, zero loading screens, unpredictable patch notes. Just go outside and touch the grass…but watch out for druids in the nature. They’re real.
For real though…make the most of it while you still feel something for the game. If you still get even a flicker of joy. Don’t focus on what it used to be. just squeeze what’s left out of it like Blizzard does with the last bit of money in your wallet.
One day you will log out for the last time without knowing it was the last time. Do dumb stuff.
I am just interested in MMORPGs. I tried playing singleplayer games in 2023 when my country got gamepass legally on PC. I played some newer releases and years went by, I lied myself that I liked these games and I bought xbox series s, bought some 10 games (played only 4), realized that I did not like this type of gaming and I bought PC again (sold previous one, because I wanted to quit wow, this is reason why I started trying new stuff). Soon after I realized that I am into MMORPGs only. Played New World a lot during launch, but when hype got off I returned to WoW (my biggest mistake)… Played gw2 during new expansion launch, went very well, but returned because I did not know what I was doing in PVP arenas (I knew only what my class is able to do), and there is lots of grind that I don’t want to go into to learn all classes and specs.
Now I am realized person as I understood what I want. This is new MMORPG that I play from launch, that’s why I will try every new one from now on (bigger one). I played some other MMORPGs, but didn’t go well. For example in Throne and Liberty I have 150hours, but since it’s p2w and progression system is bad, that’s why I dropped it, but I liked it a lot, same as I liked gw2 or New World. It just has to be MMORPG, no matter what combat it is or story or whatever.
Btw in WoW I think it has very bad combat, but honestly I liked New world or GW2 much more, but didn’t get to enjoy it to the fullest, because I dropped NW after some 500h and I didn’t want to learn 10 years of content from gw2. That’s my problem, I am a bit lazy XD
No, I didn’t say that at all. I said WoW will be good for consoles as well as for PC players, if we had GW2 combat with dodges and stuff. If they want to do proper console release, let’s be honest they need to re-design a lot of things. I would go fully in if I was blizzard boss, and tell my fellow co-workers to re-design everything, from graphics to combat system and open world design.
Why? Because if they want to build hype, they need to aim big. Also to return to topic as why I think GW2 combat is better than WoW, simply put, because it is made to be played with more focus on your surroundings. It has less in it to build unwise players, by making rotation simpler and making combat more skill-based reaction-based combat, instead of trading CDs like turn-based game. WoW combat at this level is making people impatient, unwise and hyper childish zoomer like. That is it is making those that want to min max like that. Because you will need help of second hand to be able to play this game properly on higher level, and you don’t want to make holes in your community’s brain if you were dev. That is not wise at all. It’s making robotic people and I understand clearly how. Speaking only from perspective of what is wiser and what isn’t, this is why I think gw2 or NW has much better combat, because it is not making damn holes in your brain.
