I, like many frost mages it seems, have been a victim of a terrible crime. Or rather, a close friend is the true victim. My loyal water elemental, Puddles, has been kidnapped. This is not an isolated incident. Many frost mages have had their beloved companions go missing. This is an extremely serious crime.
While our watery friends have sometimes been accused of lacking DPS and being a sub-par spec choice, most of us do not care about min/maxing and would rather play in the way that brings us the most fun. Our water elementals have long been an iconic part of the frost mage and when the pet was changed from having a limited duration to being a permanent companion it was one of the best received changes to the spec.
But now I log in, planning to level my mage, but it is gone. Now my mage is just another lonely caster and playing it just feels wrong without Puddles walking besides him.
For a company with a name so closely tied to frost magic, they certainly seem determined to destroy all the fun the spec brings. This must be changed! Our beloved companions MUST be freed and allowed to stand by our sides forever! Not as a proc, not as a limited duration, not as a battle pet but as the combat pets they have historically been!
