Way to hide Lightning Shield?

So they brought this back…
Is there a way to hide the rotating ball?
It looks really bad and I really dislike watching that one again all the time.

I dislike the rotating orb visual as well.
Wish it was a way to turn it off.

It’s your class fantasy. If you don’t like it, you shouldn’t have picked up Shaman to begin with lol

Thats the point, I do not associate shaman (or word “shield”) with lightning ball rotating around my character. :stuck_out_tongue:

You don’t, but it’s clearly what the shaman fantasy is, so say the devs that designed the class 16 years ago as this spell has been around from Vanilla. Shame you have your own personal different vision of the shaman class fantasy and you do not associate shaman with a lightning ball around your character.

Shamans are based on the elements, Lightning/Electric is an element.

If that is so, okidoki. I don’t mind that opinion. Just didn’t that that it would be really so appealing to someone. To my eye it doesnt fit, it looks outdated and kinda unfitting to be a “shield” of sorts. I do understand the lightning = shaman thing you seem to go for. But yeah… I wouuld have rather kept it in the optional visuals category.

It is hideous.

There’s no reason for most of shaman.

  • Flametongue Weapon, Windfury Weapon… have no compelling reason to be timed buffs instead of spec passives. The only other class I can say have temporary buffs I can name on top of my mind is ROGUE, and the reason for that is they actually have a CHOICE of several different poisons. The only other class that has similar things is Paladin, and the only reason for that is that they can actually buff OTHERS too. Shamans cannot.
  • Lightning Shield - there’s no reason for it to circle around you. It no longer operates on CHARGES system (which was likely the only REAL reason for the floating balls orbiting you), so for all we care it could just circle us ONCE and then disappear, like every other spell cast. It’s BAD mechanically as it’s a weird cross between active/passive defensive/offensive buff nowadays, not really being good at anything, but you have to keep it up regardless.
  • Lightning Bolt - no reason for this to have extra (and WORSE) animation than Chain Lightning. It looks kinda out of place.
