I started playing again after a long while and playing was fun till you want to start raiding.
If you ask, me what the game needs, is a way for people to train the raid without the uber drops, and without all the silly ID locking etc. Give us the opportunity to train surviving a raid so we don’t become by default the unwanted in full fledged parties. Sitting in chat for 2 hours watching a LFG channel where you have close to zero % chance to find a 10 person raid group is not fun. I’d prefer to train the raid with others like me, even if I get no drops for it instead. And when we master it, we can go for the real thing. People could train noobs without getting an ID lockout which is the cause of this behaviour. But hey noone will mind this post besides haters for sure. Ach ,whatever.
If this is about Retail, in Dragonflight the difficulty up to Heroic uses “Loot Based” lockouts, meaning you can do the raid again but you won’t get any loot from it.
There’s also LFR, Normal, Heroic and Mythic difficulties in that order for “ease” you can sneak peek the boss and some lightweight difficulties in LFR and then prepare for Normal with some friends or guildies that don’t care about wiping that much but more about mechanics?
nach I was playing sod and got bored trying to find a way to get a raid group that hadn’t cleared the raid yet. Got 0% intrest in retail. It’s wierd, I saw a stat only 2% go raiding, yu’d expect people would be happy if there were a larger pool to select from over time, but they create this this divide that makes it impossible to move forward, I just decided to share my thoughts about it and what i perceived as a solution.
You have issues finding a group because Classic. Nobody plays that.
I will never get bored of saying that classic is, and will always be a 20 year old game. That is absolutely not adapted for 2023. Its boring, and people play it for like 2-3 weeks for nostalgia. Then, once they realize that you cant time travel to 2004 they never touch it again.
Therefore: 2% of a few people, is even less people. Maybe 1 guild in the whole SoD player base.
In 3 weeks time you will have trouble finding people in Orgimmar. And that 2% will be 0%.
You wanna raid? Retail. Thats the answer.
For SOD I recommend joining a raiding guild, and tell them that you’re new in advance to raiding in general.
Some of them may set up a B team and steer you in the easier mechanics, you can also look up videos about the SOD raids. These are just modified bigger dungeons gone to raiding so it’s not really raid-raid.
