We don't want no ring

We all saw lotr. We don’t need this ring we have to farm on this no-fly island that gives us random power. I thought it’s a topic we chewed through for the last 10 years and I thought we sat down and talked to you and you were like “ok I won’t do it again” but now you go like :point_right::point_left: soooowwyyy … BUT I KNOW IT BETTER THAN PLAYERS!

In the bigger picture, this is a strategic decision for future monetization. You heard it here first. This kind of thing sucks, so they can sell some convenience later to you.

This is one of those Devil is in the Detail type things.
It depends on the level of gating (time, gold, other currency, rep, grind of whatever).

If this will take months to get then meh, not bothering.
If it’s a few weeks of some quests and some chores (word de jour) then fine.

Given Bliz record recently I imagine it will be a horrible grind. Players will complain. Grind will be nerfed or currency buffed then Bliz will be congratulated on listening to their players.

You need the ring to be able to fly on the zone, right?
I think many overlook that, though we shall see how much of a grind that will be in the end.

Do you really need the ring for flying or you being sarcastic here ?

Do you have any references that state this as a fact like a legit wowhead post or icyveins.

There’s a buff called ‘Wings of the Siren’ you gain by acquiring the ring.

What they gonna remove all the mounts and make us pay for a standard mount in the shop and then make us pay for abilities?

Mmmhmm.

I guess this is the new meme now.

I read it personally long before the movies came out.

So pretty much like everything else in the game then, it’s just more obvious.

And as Blizzard have a passion for releasing patch content where you can’t fly anyway…

Ok so there will be flying allowed. Thanks you

Just wonder why wowhead makes a post about no flying when they could have just as easily mentioned that you may need the ring to take flight.

Who knows - This is all still PTR.
Folks say you need about just a minute from one end of the isle to the other, and shortcuts are available via grappling hook spots.
So whenever you truly need flight or not in this case, that is up to you.

Thats why in another post I commented that even old style flying may be pointless given the size of the island. I saw the grappling hooks in the image and made an assumption guess we would have that and probs a bunch of jumping puzzles to get to. Then I also saw the tracks and assumed that carts would be the mode of transport around the isle like the old fashioned SF trams.

To jail with you, immediately

I mean they also said that they no longer want many mechanics that flat out wipe the raid, oneshot or spiral out of control on Mythic. Naturally this turned out to be a lie.

The only gating I’d be OK with for something like this is “beat this solo challenge once, get item guaranteed”.

Atm u get ring after few quest. A weekly quest to increase i lvl (start ilvl 619, and gain 4 i lvl each week i guess). Gems dropped by quests, also can be crafted (prob not on 1st week).

Sofar nothing any extreme grind.

It is probably meant to be a soft nerf for the raid, so more guilds can get CE before the next tier

Where did you get that from that it is craftable?

Just keep stuff simple… why make a ring and then you have to read all the guides again and do this and that and what not. Just let a ring be a ring like it’s supposed to be. No fancy stuff. This game became the most addiction thing without all that stuff.

To the nerd who reads: Nerd.

For the no-fly apologizers: It’s fun to nose dump and be 0.01s faster. Let me have fun.

I just really don’t get it. I thought we put all that behind us.

Is this another we take flying away and give it back as a “reward” thing?

here is the npc:

So you don’t craft it but you buy it from an NPC. Crafting for me is “you ask a jewelcrafter or leatherworker to do X” right?

Well the npc says “create”. But whatever.

Wow, they actually did that?

They actually think that is a good idea? Well. I’ll just pretend the place don’t exist then.
