Hey I´m on same boat as you but honestly that new mount is literally trash… even if blizz give me that mount for free I don´t want it. Ugly garbage for furries.
We all love this game that is why we are complaining, because we want it follow a better path. Not that of greed and carelessness towards their playerbase.

Druids didn’t get one. We got a bulky flight form instead, which is useless on the ground (half of every expansion nowadays). At least it functions as a two-people flight mount.
How many druids even use flying mounts to begin with?

I just felt it was “unfair” that we didn’t get a ground mount like every other class. I use mounts only in BGs. The “class mount” (bulky flight form) for druids also didn’t count toward the achievement.
While I didn’t hate the concept of class-specific mounts, it wasn’t a design I felt was great. I’d rather everyone can obtain and use any mount they enjoy for their character.
This again yes, because Blizzard hasn’t learned and they keep choosing the lazy side of things instead of putting our 13 euros for month to good use.
I am sorry, it isn’t 16 reskins it is actually 23, some even dating to 4 expansions ago, some of which are hardly distinguishable from the original.
Just out of curiousity, when did they release the Dreamer dragon mount, and the ship mount? By any chance was it 6 months and a year ago? Clearly not a trend of releasing these mounts as a loyalty reward or anything, no no, must be frothing greed.
You are blind. There are 8 months before now and Shadowlands (supposing it comes out this september) between then and now this patch is the only thing we will get. Do you see yourself doing this stuff for 8 months ? I don’t think 90% of the people will and guess what, Blizzard knows it, that is why they throw out deals like the 6 months sub, so that people sub for the next 6 month instead of subbing one month, and deciding the game got too boring. There is going to be a huge content drought. The same thing that happened when they released the previous 6 month mount deal.

Some of us genuinely like the mounts. I appreciate that I’m not excluded from being able to get the Chinese New Year mounts.
The way you talk with ‘people like you’ is as if we are supporting mass child exterminations or something. It’s an optional extra in a game either via a recurring sub, bulk buy sub at reduced cost, from the store for IRL money or in the store for your hard earned gold converted into balance.

I am to lazy to be done with new content in just couple of month’s so i got my 6 month’s anyway, i understand if others are very dedicated and bored within 1 or 2 month’s and wanna cancel sub.
My problem with it is that I’m paying a subscription, to me paying a subscription means access to everything. I don’t think people would be too happy if Netflix or Spotify sold access to shows or albums separately and the argument that “it’s optional” definitely doesn’t work there.
The other problem is that it’s tied to the longest running subscription option as if that somehow makes those people more loyal than someone who has the 1 month running on auto-renew.
The third problem is that it’s also on the store. If it’s a loyalty reward like some claim and not a carrot on a stick to stick around during content draughts then why is it also on the store?
The fourth and last problem that no one who supports this seem to want to answer is, why on earth doesn’t it make more sense as an in game reward for the lunar festival? The store to me is disgusting but I’ve made my peace with it for random mounts but when we have a chinese new year event in game, how does it make any sense at all that they’re on the store and not part of the event?

They have been selling 6 month subs with mounts as rewards for a long time now, this is the 3rd time they do it.
And yes, the items in the shop are optional, they are not needed to play the game.
The mount is also on the store because the 6 month sub is a promotion till end of february.
So if you dont get the 6 month sub you can still get it later.
And no, just because you paid your sub and paid for an expansion doesnt mean they cant release optional content in the form of cosmetic items in their shop.
As soon as we see: patch 8.3 only 15 pounds in the shop, than i will be on the same page with you i feel.
Netflix has different plans for different users aswell, where the 4k content is locked at a higher priced subscription. However if 4k gets mainstream i think this will change. So paying just your basic netflix sub doesnt grant you multiple user accounts or 4k content on that subscription.
So even netflix runs with optional content / cosmetic upgrades for a higher / extra price.
If i remember correctly (i dont use spotify anymore) you can purchase music from artists like new albums and stuff through spotify. Which is once again optional. And also multiple users per account.
The thing is, gaming moved on and they figured out a way to earn more money.
Many games run on micro transactions and most of them are cosmetic only.
This is simply the new way of making money after you iniatially got paid for your game.
In terms of WoW and the cosmetic items in the shop, i think that is fine to have mounts / pets / transmog stuff in there to some degree.
The WoW token is a grey area, but that has to do with the gold seller debacle and i think they solved it to a certain level.
I still do believe that the shop is one of the reasons why the subscription prices havent gone up ever since WoW release tho.
And in my eyes, that is a good thing.
Yes, the mouse is a new skin on the skeleton / model of Ratstallion
The new M+15 FoS mount is based on the same skeleton as the pandaland dragons.
The alpaca’s were already in the game as NPC, making them into mounts was probably not much work either + once again reskins.
The new insect mount is based on the Bee skeleton.
Anzu’s mount is a raptor with feathers attached to its skin. It moves exactly like a raptor.
WoW only introduces new skeletons or models for certain mounts every x many years.
Most mounts are reskins of existing mounts or use the skeleton.

The mount might be behind a paywall. But it’s a paywall you’re going to be paying anyway for the subs. So why are people even complaining.
I could’ve paid £19 for it. But why not just get a discounted 6 months sub and effectively get a free mount at the same time.

I mean that’s not even close to being the same thing, you still have access to everything on Netflix. I’m not arguing that every streaming service only have 1 plan, I’m saying there’s no additional content locked behind more money unless pixel count is content.
That was an option for free users nearly 10 years ago when you could only stream a song 5 times, not an option for subscribers.
Yeah they did by making F2P games with a shop. I’d be fine if that was the way this was headed but currently WoW is one of two games in the world (citation needed) that double dips with a subscription and a shop. The shop definitely helps with off setting the subscription but it’s not my fault they didn’t even follow yearly inflation. I would’ve happily paid an extra few cups of coffee worth of subscription over the 3 we have now if that could remove the store.
I think it should be, otherwise the whole premise of a subscription falls apart.
