We need a DBM for PvP

That way the majority of people might do something of value in battlegrounds. You get WG vehicle rank: loud ding BUILD VEHICLE. You pass a tower/bunker in AV: ENTER TOWER AND DEFEND/CAP FLAG. There are 30 people in enemy base while you lost all your towers: GET BACK TO TOWERS. Flag gets picked up in WSG: “ATTACK/DEFEND FLAG CARRIER”. Paladin bubbles: MASS DISPELL/SHATTERING THROW etc.

The addon needs to have very loud noises and very clear statements. If it works for PvE (and feeling skillful), it should work decently for PvP. Raid warnings don’t work anymore, just like in PvE (like LFR). All they have to do is install the addon, listen to the extremely loud ding and do exactly what the addon says. You know, just like skillful PvE.

Result: People standing near the workshops not doing anything, waiting for a vehicle, while you’re vehicle capped.

Result: The first tower people pass gets defended, and everything else is ignored.

Result: You get your towers back, but loose all graveyards. And the enemy defends their towers.

Result: Everyone rushes to defend the 15k HP rogue who just dinged 60, but thought it would be funny to pick up the flag. Noone lets the tankiest, fastest player pick up the flag when the rogue inevitably drops dead.

On second thought… yeah, do make an addon like that. Let me play against a team using it, too. Thanks for the free conquest & honor!

You make it sound like that’s a worse situation than we have now.

Yeah I still don’t see it improving much. I can spam the chat in game with ‘Inc Farm 3’ and people don’t care, there are klaxxons in the game to sound off that your flag has been taken or a base has been assaulted, people don’t hear them or care when they do. I think even with DBM they’d still not notice anything as they’re always too busy going mongo to beat the scoreboards.

It is, because you don’t expect anything now. With a “PvP DBM”, you’d expect improvement. Yet, you’d be severely disappointed.

Some people just PvP because they want to be the tops DPS and Killing blows, because DPS matters. :roll_eyes:

The nature of random BGs. In my experience, I think a lot of people do try a lot of the time, but there is deffo an element of the above.

There’s also the flipside, the times I shout ‘Inc farm 3’ and literally the whole raid turns up, leaving everything else undefended or challenged.

Bringing up most extreme cases as arguments… I won’t even throw any insults at you, it’s enough that you have to be yourself for the rest of the life.

Definitely bgs have no informations for new players what to do. I bet 99% of the playerbase don’t know how epic bgs work. There should be battleground journal at least.

To be fair, why not have a BG journal, in all seriousness? Good idea.

What to do is (usually, you’d think) a given for us lot, but new players probably don’t really know. Plus getting yelled at by overzelous others won’t help either.

Have you played any random BGs? These things happen all the time, they’re not extreme.

Yes, and they won’t install an addon either. Or will just ignore it, like they ignore BG chat.

Now that would at least be useful. Not that anyone would ever read it…

There used to be one, Peeling The Onion, probably still is, it’s been that long since I looked. That was only for AV tho and probably a large percentage of players then didn’t even bother reading it.

Have to say tho I wouldn’t be against the idea of a DBM for PVP, I’m happy for anything at all that would improve things if it did make some difference.
