Let’s make it hapen!!! Let’s make a patreon for devs so they can sit down and think more than 5 minutes to create a new tier set for fire mage!!! Not this copy paste “when you rach x stacks” garbage.
Fire m+ gameplay is all bout SKB currently and your ability to properly stack it between pulls.
Very important: TIER SET SHOULD BE SOMETHING I’M HAPPY I OBTAINED, NOT THIS ANOTHER GARBAGE “TRACK THESE STACKS OR DO 0 DPS” THING.
WE ALREADY HAVE SKB, HELLO WAKE UP? U FORGOT WE HAVE SKB?
Imagine designing a spec in a way that requires you to have weakauras to play it properly xD
Yea the new teir sets are a bad joke, who wants to cast 30 spells taking a minimum 45 sec, which lets be honest is very conservative with the sheer amount of long as hard casts and regular fireballs / scorchs into the equation to get 6 freaking seconds of insta cast likely to be wasted due to various mechanics at the time.
Its like that one dev who made the silly legendary in shadowlands or in one of the trees no one ever takes demanding somone finaly use their idea.
Uh… did it? I haven’t seen anything and I can’t find any info?
Edit: that was hard to find!
Fire
Aberrus, the Shadowed Crucible: 4-Set Bonus has been adjusted – When your direct damage spells hit an enemy affected by Charring Embers 20 times the damage of your next 2 Phoenix Flames is increased by 200% and they refund a charge on use.
The new set features are definitely disappointing. Every day I move a little further away from the class I play. I hope they put a feature strong enough to really get us into the meta soon.
I don’t care about the meta, just want a spec where I have to make decisions.
ST is always the same except for some skb timing stuff around your main combust.
AoE is looking for a ignite sponge and ST. Maybe throw in a ice nova.
Talents are always the same except for a few utility options.
Once you get the patchwork rotation down it’s just a 3 button rotation with a few stat buff cds and one cdr spell.
Not only that but its effectively the same rotation as last expac. Every other class in the game seems to have options for builds or choices in their load out to adapt to what the encounter needs except for fire. Frost and Arcane are bad but there are some small changes you can make.
The trees were slapped together and never finished. I get that other classes needed love more than mage, especially fire, but I haven’t come across any spec in the game this expac with so limited design. The contrast between spec trees is laughable.
Think again,
after doing some research and playing around with Alextraza’s Fury, we came to a conclusion that the new set is, well… it is in fact awesome.
Any more details? I looked through the discord but couldn’t find any revelations. We gonna be almost melee all patch? Is it just extra pfs in combustion and a dmg spike every so often?
It’s debuff uptime… to go with buff uptime. So we have to juggle ib and pf to try and keep both up. So you just press PF every 10secs or so.
If thats it then its a twist on a rotation that still has all its problems. Still the only decision making is managing buffs/debuffs. I’m not a fan, glad the tier rework works though.
Dragon’s Breath is excessive, we won’t have to be in melee at all times don’t worry.
The Debuff uptime is true, that one you absolutely have to track and react to accordingly by sending a PF every 10-14 seconds. The 4p buff however doesn’t require a lot of tracking and basically for maximum optimization we just want to try and send the 4p procs inside RoP windows if possible.
All in all the 2p+4p total gain amounts to ~10-12%, which is decent.
However, when running a cross comparison between mages (all 3 specs across the board) and other ranged classes I can tell you that we’re in a dire position right now as far as raiding goes at least.
