BGs are currently absolutely broken, since even a backpedalling healer can keep up 3 people while tanking 2 DPS that uses interrupts and CC.
The CC: stun on triple DR and a missed kick that triggers precognition. Followed up by wasted stuns that go into the precognition while it is active.
This is most likely false.
This is just a copium, you cant kill a healer with 2 dps, he dont even need to hardcast to outheal 2dps damage.
No, it’s a fact that many dps players, especially on low rating use their cc inefficiently when it comes to killing healers. Apart from missing their kicks, not respecting precognition and stun drs, bursting straight into walls like painsup or fort brew is another common mistake.
You don’t necessarily have to kill the healer first in a team fight. You can take out their dps while the healers are ccd. With nobody to protect them, healers will eventually die too.
The goal of BGs is to score points by playing objectives, not killing the opponents. Sometimes you don’t even want to kill them. Just cc them long enough to cap.
I think a big reason for this is that the default UI sucks to track this kind of things. Some defensive spells have clear visuals, but especially in zerg fights and as ranged it is kinda hard to tell if your target has something up or not. Even harder with DRs. A lot of stuff is hard to tell/plan if you don’t have the right tracking addons (e.g. how long does that def CD last? look into 20 mini buff icons on your target…).
Unfortunately, addon setup is a big stepstone regarding accessibility for a wider audience.
True.
Ambitious PvPers should be able to install stuff like big debuffs without a problem though. It’s like going to a raid without boss mods installed if you don’t get basic tracking addons for pvp.
Healers are unkillable on low rating, healers are unkillable on high rating, with respect of precog or without, you need 3 players to take them down.
If healer appears somewhere near you, the best decision is to leave that area and not waste your time imo.
Cc healer and kill dps is a very good advice, if that dps is afk of course.
To just clone them and take the objective or kill their dps while they sit in cc. Druids can be super annoying for healers.
Just like i said, you can kill dps on clone, if he is afk of course. Also, healers never go alone so you can’t just cc him and cap.
You need few cycles of cc, take away trinket, take away dps defensives, and only then you have a chance to kill someone, that takes A LOT of time. And to kill healer without all that time waste you need 3dps at least, that is not normal obviously.
Its so easy from your pov, jUSt CLoNe aND kiLL, in reality it never works like this.
So, how many DPSes should be able to kill a healer at any given point during a bg?
Two dps should be able to take a healer on second cycle of cc at least. Current situation that its not guaranteed even for 3 dps.
Why two? The ratio is usually 1 healer to 4 DPS on both sides. If two DPSes can “easily” kill a healer, then healers will have a terrible time - guaranteed.
I don’t have the right answer, though. But I always wonder when reading topics like this; what is the ideal situation.
For regular battlegrounds I see more benefit in removing the consumables (less damage taken, more damage done, health potion).
Because unkillable healers are not fun obviously. Tbh I would remove healers from any pvp besides arena, not a single pvp game has such an unkillable abominations, you are basically running around bgs and outdoor in god mode.
What angers me personally the most (maybe because 1 of my 2 mains is tank…) is that the survivability of Healers has made them BIS for carrying flags…
As a rule of thumb, for Blitz, I would say 3 DPS sitting on 1 Healer should get that healer killed in 30 seconds (no external factors, include dps/healers own CDs etc) ?
And that should not be an assumption when implementing a game (mode). WoW should give everything needed out of the box, there should be no need to install 3rd party software to play a game Sounds a bit like im making excuses for noobs or lazy people, but IMHO this “addon are expected” mentality of WoW is a big problem for a wider audience (which we need)
There are never 4 dps on one healer, its not arena where everyone are fighting on the same place.
And its one healer per 3 dps, not 4.
The ratio in combat is rarely ever even - correct. Doesn’t mean that only two DPS being able to kill a healer conveniently is the sweet spot.
Since when? WSG => almost always 2 healers 8 DPS. AB => 3 healers 12 DPS. (and in Blitz is 2/8 anyways)
Sweet spot for me when they rework healers into support like in league of legends.
I was talking about bg blitz, the most popular bg mode rn.
Absolutely agree. The default interface is completely insufficient for PvP.
