We need Middle East servers and Region

Most of the players in this region, such as players from Arabic countries, Iran, and Turkey, have to connect to Europe, which results in high ping. Please create a new region.

I agree. Keep them out lol.

Governments in that region are notorious for trying to limit/control what people do on the internet. And I am convinced those governments would not agree to playing together. At-least now in EU servers they can never find out, and cant do anything about it.

I cannot imagine the drama of having a raid with Saudi and Iranian players, and an Israeli Raid leader. With Turkish healers and Kurdish tanks.

I wish that in a perfect world that would be possible. But alas, if that region of the world has proven anything is that they love their drama.

Blizz would never localise WoW in that region for a multitude of reasons, big one primarily on cultural differences that the ME wouldn’t accept among themselves and the West.

Well Iran is about to go to war with Isreal, so that’d be fun if you had raids together

No thx .i have played on overwatch middle east servers and people on it refused to speak english .just arabic .even now i have to play overwatch on europe with vpn .i have no intention of playing with people who refuse to speak english in party content .

Forget the war and the problems of the real world, we are all champion of the Horde and the Alliance in Azeroth.

Middle Eastern server would improve ping to some middle eastern countries, but not to all Arabic countries which would exclude significant portion of demographics.

I don’t know where exactly internet cables are laid, but based on geographical distance it doesn’t make sense for all.
Arabic speaking Morocco is much closer to France than to Egypt, let alone to Saudi Arabia.

Morocco to France 1800km
Morocco to Egypt 3600km
Morocco to Saudi Arabia, and i kid you not, 5000km

It is worse even.

Many of those countries are better connected with Europe than with themselves. So it would not surprise me if ping doubled in those servers.

Because to play with someone from Saudi together with someone from Lebanon im sure that the signal has to go to Saudi → EU → Lebannon. Because they haven’t bothered connecting land lines between themselves. Why would they ? They hate each-other ! They cant even sit in the same table, let alone negotiate a cheap Fiber Optic line between a border…

Yeah, god know where relays are located.

I don’t think Turkish people call themselves middle eastern!

Geographical distance is only part of the equation. It’s all about peering, the use of the right inter-continental routes, etc. From here (Northern Europe) to the east coast in the US: at tops 120 ms (with the average quite a bit lower). Which is not all too bad, for a game like WoW. This while the trans-atlantic cable has a latency of approx 60ms. So half the latency gets appended in all the hops before/after those lines.

From the middle east to Central Europe it shouldn’t be much more than that, in theory! In practice, however, …

And to add the Middle East as region, that does imply a separation from the EU as a whole. So splitting the player base, while also now having to adhere to the local laws (wherever they will be located in the middle east, and all the countries they now officially support…). It’s a hornets nest of epic proportions.

I don’t mind Middle Eastern players :man_shrugging: never had any technical issues with them.

So how will you group up without Europe to provide a pool of players.

Congrats, you’ve solved an issue and created one 10x bigger.

yep he even wrote turkey lol whose ping to wow europe servers is 60-65 ms . :smiley_cat:

I’m in Middle East and I’d very much prefer to stay in Europe for various reasons, the most important being a big pool of players and language proficiency.

Never had issues with ping, nothing gamebreaking anyway. If you’re lagging, it’s probably your internet connection.

The current dev team can’t even deploy a minor patch without breaking half the game, and you think they’d be capable of implementing new servers? That’s cute.

'Cause they all get along.
