I haven’t played during Shadowlands but apparently triviliazing some encounter there with the help of an addon was the reason for Blizzard to disable most friendly nameplate interactions for addons.
This is fine if it’s breaking the game in some way but then please give us some native customizable options in return. The main reason I changed the look of enemy nameplates was because the visibility of the default ones isn’t very good and the addon I am now using gives these nameplates a border, turns them into a rectangle and makes them much more clear.
Can we get something similar for friendly nameplates? This is especially important for some of the healers who use frontal healing spells like paladin and evoker, but they would be helpful even to me as a priest (divine star is a frontal spell), especially in raids. With WoW now often cluttering your entire screen in some mechanics the default friendly nameplates are hardly visible.
