Yeah, the disparity during the Pride Month was funny to witness. Car brands and other brands were changing their colors to rainbow in great numbers. Hilariously, though, if you looked at those same brands’ marketing in Middle Eastern countries for example, you had the same old logos without any sign of rainbows.
Unfortunately in the big picture the fact that corporations are seemingly on board with this ideology is damaging because they lend it legitimacy, making it seem like it’s something reasonable that should be taken seriously. Only a tiny minority of the population agrees with it, but the apparent endorsement of it by insitutions lends it credence.
Of course, there’s nothing wrong with being tolerant and fair when it comes to minorities. That’s a noble goal. The woke ideology, however, has gone too far and is more about being anti-everything-Western. It’s self-destructive toward our civilization.
Good point. But i think the solution is quite plain? A woman is a person born with a uterus OR Mayer-Rokitansky-Küster-Hauser syndrome.
I must say so far this has been a very interesting read. I find myself very annoyed with the removal of the male and female selection options so im curious as to why that is.
For me it boils down to 2 main reasons
I understand that we want to be tolerate to everyone and make them feel included. But what ticks me off is that we’re trying to alter reality in doing so. The biggest part of the community considers themself either male of female. Therefor i think it would have been better if character selection offered a third option with “other”.
In this debate an excellent point has been made. In the west companies tend to advocate the gender agenda where in middle eastern regions those companies remain sillent. Its all about making PROFIT. They want to include CUSTOMERS. Therefor in the middle eastern the agenda isnt interesting to push. Which is of course very hypocritical. I feel like this topic keeps coming up in our society because it is profitable
Well i guess because it implies the cencus is there is no male of female gender. So im no longer making a male character apperently.
Another reason i think is because you are playing a video game in your downtime to escape the busy lives we all live. Its a fanasy game and i kinda find it annoying the real world needs to be dragged into this.
But by your logic, isn’t Male and Female “real world” so does that have any place in a fantasy game? Or by extension, because it’s a fantasy game, isn’t it the perfect place to have Body Types instead of gender?
The game of course has elements from the real world. The difference here for me is something is newly added to the game that is subject of discussion in the real world.
Like we see happening now the discussion with russian players in AV. Totally unrelated. But also a point where gaming evolves to a political discussion.
You could argue this is a good thing and creates awareness. It reminds me a bit of a Bill Burr bit. “Two friends are watching a movie. Then the friend pauses the movie and says btw… im diagnosted with an ilness and only have 2 weeks to live. Oh and i was molosted when i was 9. Enjoy the rest of the movie”
Im not doing justice to the bitt… but the point is youre playing videogames to relax and ease your mind.
I didnt open any threads on the matter. I suppose you mean in a general sense people seem te be mad and shouldnt overreact to a trivial change? But if its so trivial… whats the point then and add it in the first place?
Agreed. But that also means it might not be so trivial for the people on the other end of the discussion. Something is either trivial or it isnt.
I consider the character male indeed. But in a broader perspective, it kinda feels like there is a movement going on to remove male and female options out of our society. And i dont think i agree with that direction. Alltough i do agree that it is important that everybody needs to feel included.
