As most WoW players I have been played on and Off the game for years (maybe 16-18).
I used to be really fond of the PvP section and decided to give it a go again this expansion.
First thing I noticed and remain the same as always it seems that Horde win slightly more than Alliance, Good for you guys well done. I committed when I started to the Ammiance and never had an Horde Character in all that time…
Second thing is the nature too bursty of the game especially due of being in the last season. A few expansion before everyone complained about drrods’ convoque and nowadays amùost half the specs have a one shot ability. And that is not all… I remember the time when a skilled player could 1v2 newbies with the same ilvl, nowadays good luck if you have pallies for instance against you alone… I aù ,ot the most skilled player but for those one that get oneshot by a player who has no clue what they are doing and press 1 or 2 buttons… Burst have to be lowered for talent s to express themselves.
That brings to my main point: the unbalanced classes and hero talents. I am someone that thinks that hero talent should not be as they are almost impossible to balance, furthermore when empowered by gear sets… That is just not possible as there a re far too many variables.
The gearing system for pvp is a joke and maybe one of the worst and they may as well removed pvp gearing at this point. I am amongst people that think that there should be REAL PvP gear and that if you show up with PvE gears should should be at a very very large disadvantage. I think it is time to put back resiliance for PVP Gear having exactly the same stats (primary and secondary) as pve but a third secondary stat unique to pvp sets called resiliance offering a percentage damage reduction in addition to the 40-60% to the base one that all characters have. Nowadays some specs scale very well with versatility when others not as much as crit or haste… Hence all spec may benefit by their usual stats and forget about versatility… Knowing that ONLY PvP gears have that stat.
The addition of few elements to the group finder would be nice like a ranked 2v2 or 3v3 with no healers would be nice… but most importantly a tab in the Random Dungeon that strictly does not to match up teams (i.e. 2 healer on each side) and you know that you will have unbalanced teams and you will get lucky or not but it is your decision… I remember back in the day that queuing for a random was instant (for Alliance) and perfect if you wanna blow some steam and want a few quick matches to kill stuff and winning if possible… Waiting 10-15 mins to enter a random BG is insane. So just an extra tab to queue like that and after a few months Bliard can see if people choose that option or not.
It is a little rant about the state of the PvP… One thing I do not understand is how PvP has always been left aside in favor to Dungeon and Raids. With some serious work behind they really could make PvP the main attraction. But for that a few mechanics in PVP should change. And to be honest it has to become more accessible (and by that not having the need to use 10 add-ons) so the talents can really shine. More than 90% of gamers nowadays play only/mainly on their phone, it is figures that bliard shall look at… There is areason that Pallies are the most played spec and the most idiot prof too (and fun you must admit, though my main has been DK since WotLK).
That was a few thoughts that I felt sharing with you.
