But they have retail wow. Classic wow is for the ppl who wants to play as it was before
But there is a charm to play some you did before and have found memories of.
But what i think people liked about SoD in the start was same old but whit new stuff to find and test. Just hope classic + comes and they lerned what to do and not.
Thatâs why we have sod and fresh
Well, the entire experience have been a RollerCoaster for both good and bad.
I wish i saw ALOT more PvP balance, since there havent really been any. Almost all classes can pretty much obliterate the opponent in the open world if they attack first in a matter of seconds. So for me, PvP is a big joke in SoD.
- Smarter taxi. And by that, i mean the flying to a destination. If not, then atleast add some portals. To fx. Stonard, gadgetscan etc. for faster travel around the world with minimum wait time on a damn Wyvern.(Horde yes)
- Add a few more spirit healers
Corpse running for minutes is just not fun:)
- Class QoL. Fx. Let combo points stack on the player instead of the target. switching targets is a way too big of a DPS loss. And can be annoying to lose your combo points. if you need to kill a totem or add fast, CR a player etc etc.
- Guild Bank / Guild system of some kind could be cool aswell.
- Let alot of items stack higher. Potions from 5>20. Arrows from 200>1000, you get the idea
Just a few fast inputs that could be nice, IMO
The good:
- The game felt/feels like Classic so far. All the content has been made useful, in appropriate order.
- Coins for 5 mans kept them relevant way longer than they should be
- Catch up mechanics and instances make things better for alt-lovers (I have no alts)
- The classes feel reasonably balanced. There will never be complete balance, and nor should there be, but with the latest patches, I donât feel any class is ahead in pve or pvp. Every class can do some things well.
- An attempt made to introduce more difficulty levels to range between casuals and hardcore players
- Low level raids were fun, and staggered leveling is fantastic. It majorly increases the gameâs longevity, and the first thing we did wasnât a gruelling grind to 60.
- One of the biggest factors: all classes except hunters have at least 2 party roles to play. My life as a mage was massively improved by being able to heal. Itâs possible to find tanks for groups and pug raids and theyâre not all warriors! This MASSIVELY increased my enjoyment of the game.
- Every class is better than it was, without too much ability bloat.
The Bad:
- Whoever was doing the PvP events does not, at a basic level, understand anything about PvP, whatâs fun in PvP for players who enjoy it, or understand how players will exploit mechanics.
- Ashenvale was a farce. It was PvE. You canât pvp with that many players in mega-raids.
- STV is also a steaming pile. Res, spam, die, repeat. Itâs terrible design, and again focuses on creating massive brawls where you go 100 to zero because 23 players just clicked instants at you.
- Blackrock Mountain was so bad they had to introduce a special âyou canât be corpse camped and can get to BRD finallyâ mechanic.
- Overall, PvP world events in SoD have played into that same goal they always have - massive wars. But what PvP players want is small scale skirmishes where they can reasonably keep track of who is where and whatâs going on. Nobody has ever enjoyed 40 vs 40 battles.
- Class balance in pvp - given that we stopped at intervals of levelling and had BGs open up to play, and were encouraged with new item options, new world pvp events - has been so utterly appalling that it ruined a lot of what should have been fun. Mages were, until the insanely OP ice lance buff, just dog turds (so much so that a set of gear in ZG has to increase a main nuke damage by SIXTY FIVE PERCENT to fix the class, and even after that they had to double ice lanceâs damage). Spriests had their day. Boomies are finally a bit nerfed. Shamans are still bonkers. Overall, things have started to level out - but balance was totally ignored.
- Lack of action around premades farming casuals in WSG when it was the only available BG. It should have been acted on faster, at the end of week 2 maybe.
- Phase 5 was rubbish. Everyone just wanted to get to endgame. Raiders wandered off. It was too many phases by 1.
- Crap loot in ST made it extra undesirable
- The Scarab Lord quest chain - a massive endeavour even with its rep grind more accessible - awarded no title, and now any AQ raider can just get a bug mount from the raid. Why did we do this quest? We expected to have a cool symbol of the long chain we did, but instead, giving out outdoors bug mounts basically removes the fun.
- While higher difficulty levels was a good idea, the way it was implemented was bad. MC just required fire res gear - just an additional gold sync before actually raiding.
- BWL difficulty settings was good
- AQ from what I see in âgamblingâ for loot is quite lame.
Morte can you just raid with us this Sunday?
The persistence on this man(?) has to be applauded. No matter the topic his eyes are on the prize, gotta make those smite priests happen.
The potential for SoD was immense. Imagine you had a chance in your life to roll back twenty years. A chance to change every bad decision you made during all this time and the outcome of which you clearly know.
Maybe you wouldnât take the chance, maybe you are happy with where you are and thatâs fine.
So far SoD did barely a taste of that, with better balanced classes, smoother leveling experience thanks to runes and⌠thatâs about it.
I still canât believe the only new piece of content we got is a 5 player dungeon DFC. Which I actually think they did a good job with. But really? thatâs it?
The fact that we havenât even gotten a new zone - Hyjal would have been such an easy win, is insane. There are unofficial servers out there that did a more ambitious take on an alternative classic than what we got with SoD.
So much wated potentialâŚ
looking at data is not the full story or even half the story⌠if thats what they are looking at classic + is doomed
I am still at 35 level, leveling and dunno what to do at 60.
How to get pvp gear, which dungeons to do before raiding? How to find friendly guild for raidingâŚ
They created another retail and somehow didnt manage to make any new fun content
