The developers said that Midnight will not do anything for existing races:
Blizzard, what is going on? I honestly don’t understand why you treat your players this way!
For years, players have been asking you to add new hairstyles, hair colors, jewelry, tattoos, different accessories – anything for the already existing races.
And you’ve done nothing.
Just look at the customization options for dracthyr in their human form and then compare them to Void Elves or Nightborne. It’s ridiculously unfair.
The same goes for classes and specs – people have been asking for cosmetic glyphs to visually add/change/hide some spell effects and abilities – again, nothing has been done.
You always seem to have the time and resources to create yet another no-name race, without history and culture, that 0.1% of players will actually play. You give them unique hairstyles, jewelry, fully voiced emotions and dialogues, racial transmogs and abilities… but why can’t you do at least something for the races that have been in Azeroth for decades, the ones your players truly love?
You promised to listen to the community, but over the years there have been hundreds of threads on these forums asking for more attention to races. For many players, the appearance of their character matters a lot.
This all looks really bad. I’m completely disappointed with the Midnight presentation and the developers’ position – you just don’t hear your players, and you’re completely detached from the reality of your own game.
My character is Void Elf. I almost always use only ONE hairstyle. Actually, only one, because there is very little choice
But even this hairstyle covers half of her face. And I really miss having different hair colors. Blood elves have way more customization options, which isn’t fair
This. It’s getting absolutely ridiculous. We were told for SL there would be added a lot of new customisation - which mostly turned into some measly hair and skin colors for a few races; not some actual new customisation like hair styles or faces. We’ve now been kept waiting for four years and more, hoping to get something added - and are getting disappointed once more.
WoW pales is character customisation when compared even to the most basic indie games. It’s absolutely embarassing.
Instead of furniture and items for housing - or better in addition to it - they should have focused on our characters, something which would have benefitted all players.
Yeah, see, that right there is the problem - I’ve been telling myself that since four years (or more): “sad, we haven’t been getting anything… but surely the next patch will bring it… surely the next expansion will at least do so?” … and now another expansion is announced without a havy focus on overdue character customisation for all races.
99,9 % commnunity doesnt care about character customization outside of character creator and Blizzard know this. Nobady is going around and say “OH look cool blue eyeys”. People can barely recognize races in this game so creating new hair style is waste of time.
First of all, they said - no new customization at the launch, which means - we have other patches where it could happen (they might even add your beloved ‘high elves’)
Try to read / listen with understanding.

Can you please provide a link to the source of this information with proof? You don’t have it? Okay, then please don’t forget to add the words at the beginning of your message “in my opinion, 99,9% of the community…” at the beginning of your sentence
Did you know that transmogrification is one of the main and most popular features of WoW right now? It’s on par with raids and mythic+ dungeons
This indicates that the appearance of the character is important to players
And for some, it is not only the clothing that is important, but the character itself
Why are you writing to me again and saying that you’re ignoring me, yet you’re still visiting my threads? Do you have schizophrenia?
By the way, why are you hiding behind a fake character and continuing to stalk me? Did you think your main character would be difficult to find on the forum?
Uhm. You are wrong. The first thing that has kept my WoW fire burning is transmog, the trading post and the barber. Although as a Void elf i am a bit limited in my barber choices.

Obviously in 10.2.x (forgot the version number) the Red Skin colors for Draenei due to Heritage quest line…
They definitely did things in the past few years. So saying this is not accurate, sorry.
