I asked this over on the warrior forum but didn’t get an answer so thought I’d try here as well:
I just want an execute weak aura that shows the ability’s normal icon when it’s usable and turns blue when it’s not. It had this as an option in the templates but it doesn’t work. It’'s never blue so always shows as usable even when it isn’t. Anyone got one that works please?
By the way I have a warrior alt. I’m not asking for an aura on my mage like someone who replied to the post in the warrior forum thought.
I’d also be happy with an aura which does exactly the same as the standard icon: i.e. it flashes when there’s a proc or the target is in execute range but is greyed out when unusable. In fact this would be better.
Ok thanks. Not going to try it right now (want to go on main and maybe play other games 1st) but planning to at some point. Why are there 2 thingies by the way? Whenever I’ve used weak auras b4 there’s just been 1 wall of text/code.
Those are separate auras, the first shows when execute is usable and the second shows always, but below the other (because I want the icon to always be there). If you just want an icon that pops up when execute is usable then you don’t need the second.
Now this group should actually work with Sudden Death and glow effect.
Edit: minor fixes, only thing left is when in combat but no target selected, the aura won’t show up. But that’s honestly not big enough of a deal so I will keep it as is now.
Don’t worry, I think I’m done adjusting them so you can grab the string whenever you want.
I made them myself, as I do all my Weakauras myself. I usually have a set layout of auras for my UI so I can copy the auras position whenever I want to play another class or spec. This way I only have to change spells/procs etc. to get the same look on all my characters.
Edit: so I just tried them and that works pretty nicely, although not quite as I wanted (I actually wanted the Execute Icon to light up whenever usable, rather than just for Sudden Death procs) , but I’ve been able to modify it to do what i want, after more than bit of searching google and Youtube, although the answer was of course perfectly straight forward in the end. i just needed to know which funny little box to check4 which I hadn’t been magically aware of (yes, I do feel like the addon could be more user friendly, useful as it may be).
Glad you were able to figure it out though. Weakauras was more simple back in the days but as new features get added quite often the options to chose from can become overwhelming at first.
Yeah it’s not difficult but like I say, you just need to know which funny little box to check. It could be made much easier, but some people don’t seem to care about user-friendliness. It’s a nice addon, but a shame it’s not more user friendly imo. Still, it was so nice to play a bg on my warrior just now with everything set up the way I wanted it to be. i was so much better at getting my damage out. I also applied the method I discovered as a result of searching on Youtube for how to make Icons light up with Weak Auras (which I only did as a result of my discussion here with you) to making an icon to show free Slam procs. Lovely ha.
