Thanks to this discussion on reddit I discovered this Weak Aura for the tiny menu in the bottom right corner that allows us to give the icons colour. It’s made it so much easier to see them now

I don’t understand why Blizzard destroyed a perfectly working micro menu.
Is there no addon to change its looks and/or move it from its place? Bartender lost that functionality (same goes for the XP bar as well).
Oh wow, thank you, really makes it look a lot better; and since it’s a WeakAura I don’t even need to download an extra addon for it!
In ElvuI moving it works
Bartender still has the ability to move / resize the Micro Bar, their UI has changed a bit, it’s under the UI Bars ssection when you open the Bartender menu.
I’ve found it so much easier to identify what things are with this WA. It’s odd that they went for colourless bland icons.
Bartender does seem to have a preset that moves it so I’m surprised it’s not possible in general
