Whenever you sheathe your weapon and have a covenant “cloak” equipped, the weapon does not show on your back.
Do you guys think this is simply a bug or do you think this is intended by Blizzard?
I think it’s pretty lame if this is intended, since seeing the weapon whenever it is not drawn is for me a huge part of the aspect of a transmog. I suppose some weapon would clip through the back (while some wouldn’t - say the crystals and the daggers for example), but making you draw your sword from nowhere is just “meh”.
Sure. Some might clip right through. But for the ones that are actual backpacks, I think it just looks like the sword is somewhat in-between, like it does with the backpack from BFA (https://imgur.com/a/LymHDks). And they should atleast make the “floating” backs make the weapon visable, as the weapon usually fits in-between (https://imgur.com/a/TLBnNJn). Not doing this just seem lazy from their end, making each one of them remove the actual weapon.
Would be very nice if you could toggle it on/off, but of course this is something Blizzard would never do.
It differs per character. The BFA back on all the races I tried looked atrocious thanks to weapons sticking through it like the worst clip in the world, usually at odd angles.
As such, I assume the latest back cosmetics hide them so that it looks less stupid. As a Venthyr, I see no reason why I’d want big weapons clipping sideways through a bunch of back-candles.
Sucks for people who are all about showing off weapons, but fine by me compared to the alternative.
As a hunter the cloaks clip really badly through your bow or gun, you def wouldnt want both at once.
Would of been simpler just to add a ‘hide weapon’ option to the transmog tab though.
Could be easily solved by making it so the weapon doesn’t auto-sheathe every other second. It’s for this very reason I still haven’t re-bound my Z-key.
Also please turn the new Bottle and vial offhands around. They are upside down, and thus really look odd when sheathed as they stick out a lot infront of your char.
That’s another problem - size variations. For example, there’s no reason why weapons should look ginormous on Female B/V-Elves, yet look pretty normal on massive Zandalari Trolls. My Monk has a 1handed sword - looks like she’s lugging around Conan the Barbarians claymore (which leads to several clipping issues either way).
