Weapon Swap Bug (or not?)

I noticed that when I am in combat I cannot swap from two-handed to a one-handed and shield at the same time. If I use the following macro in combat:

/equip 1h wep
/equip shield

then what happens is, I have to click the macro twice. First click will equip weapon and trigger a gcd, second click will equip shield and trigger gcd.
If I click the macro while gcd is already active, nothing happens.

This makes it very difficult and clunky to use Shield Block and Shield Slam imo.

Surely this must be a bug right? Swapping to 1h and shield in combat should happen at the same time i.e. one click and should be possible during gcd. Swapping should only trigger gcd if it isn’t already active, and reset swing timer.

Try making a gearset with just sword and shield in it. (/equipset)

Hey, the /equipset seems to work better, thank you. At least it allow me to equip both 1h and shield in a single global, however it still does not work if a gcd is already active.
I hope that this is just a bug and, in that case, they will fix it asap, otherwise it seem pretty pointless to swap to 1h and shield as it would be too unreliable.

EDIT: okay so I just read from another thread that apparently:

/equipslot 16 YourOnehand
/equipslot 17 YourShield

is the way to go. This allows me to swap from a two-hand to 1h and shield even while gcd is active. However it still doesn’t seem to work the other way around when going from 1h and shield back to two-hand. I’m not sure whats going on here, but it seems like blizz got some problems with their macro system and weapon swap mechanic… unless I am missing something :man_shrugging:
