There are pros and cons to weekly class tunings. But a major drawback for me was the constant limbo.
Trying to play your class, but then everything changed from week to week. Things got nerfed, so now we no longer do that. They changed this, so now the playstyle if your class is different. They nerfed something, buffed something else.
It became tiresome to keep track of.
And you could pretty much be sure that once your class was in a good place, it would be taken away in a matter of weeks.
For me the damage is already done. They gutted my spec, and even though they are buffing it in other ways next week, it changed the playstyle to the point where I no longer know if I enjoy it.
And what if it turns out this is too strong too? It will get nerfed or changed again. Its hard to commit to a game that is changing so fast that you’re not going to be sure you like it in a month.
So blizzard, please, make your tunings and adjustments, then leave it. Do your adjustments in the phase transitions.
its that simple, that easy, that quick. your class isnt changing, the changes done arent changing builds in the slightest. boomys even after nerf STILL use Starsurge asa example here. Nothing is changing.
Because they’re only adjusting runes. thats it. lol
so no your classes playstyle isnt different, it hasnt changed Lol. retail yes builds changed and did at times change your playstyle, but it was very rare. Most nerfs just directly translate to your placement on the ladder without active game changes. because regardless of nerfs blizzard has decided on the builds / Play they want the class to use and has already ensured it’ll be the top performing option regardless to how good it is.
the builds Have not changed mid season lol and the nerfs and buffs are done in fashion that it wont change ur build, SHaman used dual wield set up prior the buffs they are getting and will carry on after, why because they buffed the USED playstyle.
the DPS Difference between builds are HUGE, which means they wont change without DRASTIC nerfs,
what you mean is "you dont know if you will be OP in a month.
No need to quit the game entirely, there are other version you can still play. However you will need to continue pay for retail in order to play things like Classic, Hard Cord and SoD.
We probably wouldn’t need this if they had just had a PTR for a month before P2 came out.
But they didn’t have a PTR and so these tunings are necessary.
If you don’t want this to happen in P3 and P4 (if you stick around that long) then start demanding a PTR for a month prior to release of a phase so that the kinks can be worked out. The whole “discovery” aspect is a joke anyway as the new content is too obtuse to find without a guide and it gets datamined anyway. So that’s not a valid excuse anymore for no PTR in my eyes.
