I have been dealing with these weird latency issues lately. It happens randomly, either after teleporting to a new instance, dungeon, or similar or when teleporting to a new environment like a city or a zone. The chat continues, I can chat with people whether in my realm or through Battle.net but the game is almost as if it’s completely disconnected.
This is extremely frustrating because it doesn’t let me play the game and even at times, gives me a deserter when I’m in PvP as it counts me afk and/or purposely leaving.
I’ve tried multiple things from adjusting and changing firewall options on my modem to my computer, trying different DNS, flushing DNS, and messing around with port forwarding. Nothing changed or fixed this issue. There are a couple of information I can share with you whether it’s accurate or not;
- When it happens, Windows Resource Monitor shows WoW.exe exchanging with little to no internet. At least below what It should be showing.
- Hovering over the Game Menu, the latency is 58ms(home) however, +4500ms(world).
- Here is a similar but not the same post about this issue I found; https://www.reddit.com/r/wow/comments/1cf0z50/latency_issues_high_world_ms_since_16042024_uk/ (Though, I contacted my ISP, they recommended me to try different DNS and that everything was good in their end.)
- Another post my friends linked me; https://www.reddit.com/r/wow/s/N6HRAdnmRn
I have contacted Blizzard already, they are copying & pasting me their common troubleshooting like reinstalling the game or adjusting the firewall. (I have already reinstalled it multiple times, but the lag keeps occurring.)
Here is a video of how it is; https://youtu.be/ZFn2Do0Ch88
Edit: I didn’t have this lag five months ago, during Dragonflight expension.
