Hello I am returnee from BFA days and I just played trough legion remix fine it plays perfectly. But on retail everytime I try to cast a spell it’s like half the time, it takes long time to actually register the button press to cast it and it’s very uncomfortable/clunky. It’s especially obvious on any melle class on ranged less so and weirdly under same settings, internet, addons, legion remix is completely fine it simply feels well how it should - Snappy, while on retail it doesn’t and even classic feels snappier and better. Running with fully updated windows 11 and gpu drivers.

Could it just be the delay before you physically release the key for the spell to fire?
/console ActionButtonUseKeyDown 1
The cvar setting has been force enabled for some time, but in older versions of the game it was disabled by default, so your old config file could have carried it over to existing characters.
Some of the hidden console settings are account wide while others are character specific so I can’t be entirely sure if this qualifies as a solution to your problem.
if that doesn’t work input this
/dump GetCVar("SpellQueueWindow")
and you can adjust the number according to preference
/console SpellQueueWindow 1-400
You will have to tweak this carefully because of the difference in base GCD and cast times. An improper configuration may further negatively affect character performance. Your overall gameplay experience won’t be the same between lets say a full caster and a button spamming outlaw rogue with instant attacks.
well those solution didn’t work though at least now I found out that using bloodlust actually gets the snappy feeling I am used to so may be there was some gcd change between bfa and TWW and again the weird thing is that even without bloodlust the snappyness is there in legion remix.
Remix naturally feels snappier because haste is easily acquired and stackable to insane numbers because the gear contains flat percentages rather than rating which is subjected to diminishing returns past certain gates.
In addition to reducing the base cooldown of some abilities, since BFA its benefits have been expanded to most classes to also reduce the base GCD of 1.5s, potentially all the way down to 0.75s, which could explain the difference in hands-on experience between two game modes.
A handful of melees that have base GCD of 1.0 and haste instead gives them a higher passive resource regen.
If something feels inconsistent and you can’t figure out what it is, go for nuclear option and do a full UI reset.
/console cvar_default
/reload ui
and restart.
