Since a few Weeks im having a weird Issue where at some Part of the Game my High FPS turns into feeling like super low fps.
Youtube unfortunately destroys any Quality so its hard to see. But if you look closely you can see that despite having over 80fps its not Smooth at all. The Game in this whole area feels like im running at low FPS sub 20.
This also happens in Atal’dazar at the Entrance Top / Shrine of the Storm Entrance and some other Spots like in M+ when you enter the Obelisks. On Beta it made the whole Zone of Bastion & Ardenweald almost unplayable for me.
My PC
i7 8700k
16gb G.Skill Aegis DDR4-3000
Samsung 860evo 500gb
MSI z370 PC Pro
MSI Rtx 2070 super Ventus
bequiet 550w PS
Asus vg236he 120hz
xonar dgx soundcard
I usually run on Setting 7 but as u can imagine i tried the other ones aswell
So my PC itself is pretty “new” and ran the past 1 1/2 Years without any Issue. All i did was change my GPU from a 970 to a 2070 super. But changing it back didnt help the issue.
I tried everything so far from Settings to a Fresh Install on a different SSD and nothing helps. The only possible Fix i can think of is that my Motherboard might be having trouble or for whatever Reason my Monitor is having some Issues even though i wouldnt understand why its only happening in certain areas of the Game.
Just want to make sure. My Problem isnt the FPS itself but what my PC does with it.
I dont have hopes for Help tbh but maybe there are others who experiences this weird Stuff too. Nothing to lose by Posting this i guess
I don’t know any fix for this unfortunately, but I am having fps issues as well.
My fps will slowly drop over time, I start with 180 fps when I log in in one area. When I play arena it will start to drop, suddenly im at 90 fps but It will go back to normal when I do a /reload… This all happens in the same area.
When I play other games like witcher 3, fall guys and doom this does not happen. Only wow.
My computer is brand new. 2080 super and 9 3900x ryzen.
The problem with the video is that YT only supports up to 60 FPS, so we can’t really see what you see on your 120Hz Display.
Does your Asus have Gsync or Freesync? If so, is it enabled? (in the nvidia control panel it should be set to on and vsync to on, but ingame vsync should be set to off for gsync to work).
Also make sure you are running in DX12 mode.
Besides of spastic turning your camera being unable to see low FPS, I didn’t spot any fps issues on its own. I did feel like I saw micro stuttering, which this zone always has. Usually I have 60 fps (capped+vsync), and it drops to 45~50 here.
This area is buggy. Though I’d advise to check if you have an addon or weak aura leaking memory as well. Turns out I had a few weak auras that were leaking 0.05mb memory per second, and they weren’t poorly programmed.
Pretty sure you could be running it on absolute max setting (= 10)
Similiar issue here. Took it down to 4 even and same issue.
Put it on 10 and a little better but something’s off.
World MS is higher than usual but under 50. Somethings wrong on Blizzard’s end
I worded my self wrong there, this happens everywhere in the world. I just tested this without addons and still, the same is happening… I also tested my memory and nothing there is nothing wrong.
I think it’s best to contact support in that case, they have a few tools to have you check stuff that might help find the problem. For me it gets really bad if I have a high frequency of refreshes for Details! for example. Anything below 1.5s becomes microstutter hell for me. Playing on 3s fixes most of these issues across the game. If you use details, there’s also a bunch of other performance options that might be worth checking.
