Weird lag with low ping

Skills, looting , quests and animation are feeling so weird… my ping is only 67ms (usually 80~ but after patch is better ) … i logged in 2 hours after patch and played for a while … everything seemed fine… Now i log in again and there is like half a second or maybe more when i press skill to actually do it ( non-casting skills) … i messed up a little with me spellqueue timer but nothing changed it still feels slow to react. i put it back to default. i can literally see the next GCD rolling after i press my skill , and the skill animation starts after 30-40% of the roll of the next GCD that supposed to start exactly after the skill animation starts.

Looting on the other hand is just all over the place … i have auto loot , i right click … opens an empty bag then closes … after half to 1 second i see the loot in my bag and on chat. While i was skinning something it would show me there there is nothing to take something like that … and then give me stuff…

I also have similar issues, but only in the BFA continents and not in dungeons and battlegrounds.
This lag is mostly present in the azerite world quests

That looting issue I was experiencing along with others in my party for a few weeks before the patch. Felt like server lag, rather than connection lag.

i asked in general in dustvar and many also had the same problem… i also believe it’s a server problem something …

I experienced this as well in Vol’dun during the Incursion that’s going on right now. I’d imagine it’s because of a huge influx of players going into that one compact area. Low ping for me (between 10-20) It’s the servers.

To be expected on the first day of the new patch, but I hope they’ll fix it, because the Incursions actually seem to be pretty decent… if you are in Warmode.

It’s been like this since the launch of BFA. Sometime it’s better, sometimes it’s worse. It ruins the whole experience. With WM on it’s fine, but according to Blizzard there are 0 issues with lag.

im at stormsong right now and it’s only getting worse… i dont get quest items no matter how much i wait… doesnt show me on mount when i mount up … also i have to manually dismount to collect stuff …atm im waiting for about 1 min to change a weapon … both greyed out… and stuck there…

It is weird lag indeed. Especially noticeable when you are questing, that it takes half to 1 second for questlog to respond to actions. I have Titanpanel showing me fps and home/world latency at the top and i keep checking it every now and then. FPS is always 60, latency 48/48 and never higher than 50. I am actually using wireless (5G, sometimes 2G), with router 4 meters behind me. Today i went all day with 5G and it’s been lagging still.

So just want to express that those numbers are not spiking, ever. It’s clearly not communication lag, so it has to be something that happens on server internally. It doesn’t matter what time i play either, i was on at 6-7 AM in the morning and it was lagging more than at peak time right now.

It’s not weird lag, it’s server lag, the server is struggling to process your request in a timely fashion. Usually notice it on looting. Might just be coincidence, but I’ve noticed it more in Stormsong than anywhere else. Been noticeable periodically since BfA started, probably at times of high load. It’s not a huge surprise, as towards the start of the expansion, most of the playerbase is clustered towards a few zones. WQ emissaries/daily chests further focus that to a specific zone.

I don’t know what it is but, I haven’t experienced anything like this before…
I only started playing yesterday returning from a lengthy break (shouldn’t have bothered)

Cant use spells, die to mobs then go to ress waiting to ress whilst being attacked and killed in ghost form, can’t mount up or can’t dismount, It’s a joke and unplayable!
Not a good impression for someone who’s just returned tbh.

Blizzard need to fix this asap.

What setting are you using. Like Optimize network, and Input lag setting on or off? And maybe IPv6 enabled?

Mine were input lag off, optimized network off, and IPv6 enabled.

I now have turned on optimized network and turned off IPv6. See if that solves the issue a bit.

I doubt it’s an issue with the games configuration settings as the issue for me at least is completely random, and the fact that people in general complain about it too.

I can attest to this as well and believe it is a realted issue that has already been reported on the us forums here: https://us.forums.blizzard.com/en/wow/t/terrible-lag-after-patch-8-1/49203 - I have deleted my cache folder and it resolved the issues for an hour or so but they are back so can say this “fix” is onlt a short term solution.

Like i said, it can lag in the middle of the night. How is that unusually huge server load? Now, i don’t actually know if Russian presence on Emerald-Dream EU is significant in that… They have their own realms too.

Would really like this to be solved, unplayable in bfa right now :frowning:
