Question to the more experiences users. Overall in most of the expansions was always a spec (guardian, resto, feral, boomkin) that was quite strong during the expansion.
I am thinking to main druid since gives me more flexibility, since I can have four diffferent playstyles and some nice stealth on top!!
I think that can also allow me later on to play different role based also on what is strong in the current expansions.
Were druids always a so nice and powerful class?
Thanks
Alex
Except vanilla yes, they where very very mama intensive in 2004.
Now though at least one spec is always strong, healing always viable in pvp and pve due to the nature of their heals and toolkit
Guardians capable but fluctuates.
Feral and boomy are always usually petty good but this expansion for instence if you cannot get the complicated bloodtalons playstyle on feral your dps will be low in comparison to alot of others.
Tldr: yes they always have a good spec and are versatile.
Nothings wrong with feal at all, I love it but people complain about mythic and the kit… Honestly druids are amazing to main and play I am currently transitioning to druid alt/main with this hunter (this has always been my main so hard to give up) but SL changes look awesome to me
What changes exactly? Right now Blood Talons let you decide where you want to empower your dmg. This change seems it will only work for Rip … but we will see. However we lost Survival Instincts and got only Barkskin in return which is much worse while other classes still have better survivability even when we have SI. No changes I saw make me excited for Shadowlands.
Druids were considered the weakest class in vanilla, especially balance and feral. I think it was a little overhyped, the class wasn’t nearly as bad as people say, especially after patch 1.8, but definitely nowhere near as strong as today, or even from The Burning Crusade onwards.
Resto was never bad as far as I know. Their unique healing style always had a place in most content, even when the rest of the specs were at a bad spot.
I played druid until 1.13. They were so bad… Raid leaders keep druids in the roster for battle rez and for 1 more skill that you must use on healer Priests
I think so too that druid can give you lot of excitement. It is nice that all specs have stealth and I also see some very nice unique synergies. For. Example I wanted to main feral for wpvp and bgs. Even though is hard to join m+ groups, for gearing, I succeeded playing as guardian that I find very interesting for pve. The tanking gear, like trinkets is very useful ofc for my feral pvp activities. When bored I also switch to resto for some pve healing
I take the approach of “hm feral / sv hunter with great gear ok ok he must be good”
9 time out of 10 to be honest I’m right they are better than the average fotm / top dps spec. Of any class and they use the entire kit which is rare I’ve mainly. Played my shaman all expansion except world pvp as well… Lightning bolts! but I even see hunter NOT using MD and I’m like seriously… Just use it, it does help or a mob goes on a healer and it’s not. Popped and I’m dumbfounded lol come on keep healer alive and help the tank use your MD lol
