Western (wild west) expansion?

Dead Or Alive

Note: This entire lore and everything written here is fictional and is written by me.

Lore:

This takes place on called Rokukan, which is a distant planet from Azeroth. on this planet, the main population consists of the race Vamara, which are intelligent ape-like creatures with small ears and a long tails, and stands slightly taller than humans. The Vamarans live in villages and wheras the richest and nobles live at the temple that stands at the center of the jungle of Rokukan, called the Temple of Al’goriat. But some live in the out in the wilderness barrens of the Drylands.

The whole zone of the Drylands is in post apocolyptic mess. Where people strive to surive and often resort to violence and thievery, where banditry and gang warfare is common. The larger cities there are now in ruins, and most of the people dwell in the wilds, hunting and gathering food and scraps. Just a few towns and small settlements left, but most are small and isolated. None knows what caused the apocalypse that destroyed the zone, but there are multiple rumors.

Thier favorite mount is called Gorgs, which is a fast cat-like creature with big mouth. The Vamarans live off the land and they eat mostly vegtables and farm crops. The majority of Vamaran society lives in large cities called Hrahima, which can be found throughout the continent of Rokukan. There are three major cities in total, one in each province: Yulong (the capital), Nighoi, and Qixia.

The Vamarans believe that all life forms have an innate desire for survival, so they choose to live harmoniously with nature rather than dominate it or destroy it. They strive to maintain a balance between themselves and the world around them. To do this, they’ve developed a culture that values harmony, compassion, and respect.

Vamari’s have a natural affinity with animals and can communicate with them telepathically, although this doesint work for reptilian species. This allows them to easily tame almost any beast they come across. They also hunt their food, but don’t hunt for sport, instead choosing to hunt for meat when there is no other option available.

The Vamarans are of peaceful nature. They are a very ancient race, having lived for thousands and thousands of years. Their lifespan is much longer than ours, which is why they have learned to live in harmony with their environment. They have developed thier own martial art called Baoqiao, which is the use of staves in close quarter combat, it consists of long sweeping strikes and throws that can be used from a distance or up close. The Vamarans use these techniques to defend themselves against other species who would seek to harm them. But many outsiders and outlaws have resorted to the use of guns instead

Another humanoid race, are the El’Dalis, they live mostly on the other side of the continent. They are upright lizards with reptilian features. Their bodies are covered in scales that range from light green to dark green, they also have a heavy tail that they drag across the floor while walking, but can also be used for bashing others. While traveling through the water they use webbed hands to swim, and their feet are protected by thick claws. As you might expect the El’Dalis don’t get along too well with the Vamari and are not very open towards outsiders.

They live either in the swampy or in eastern coast the jungle regions of Rokukan. They have a natural affinity for black magic, making them feared sorcerers. They also are skilled at creating powerful charms and potions, as well as being able to channel magical energy into their weapons. The El’Dalis don’t often make contact with others, but when they do it’s usually because someone has been caught trespassing in their territory. They worship a deity named Aekaros, who is a god of death and order.
Thier arctitecture varies greatly between different tribes, some of the lesser tribes are mostly simply huts made out of leaves and vines. But the major lives in impressive structures built from stone, wood, and metal, with anient carvings on the walls and halls leading deep underground.

The two races that dominate Rokukan, the Vamari and El’Dalis aren’t the only ones. There are many other races that inhabit this world, though most are small tribes that live far away from civilization.

Location:

N’jara also known as the drylands is a massive zone filled with deserts and steppes, and is home to many desert dwelling creatures including spiders, scorpions, snakes and other reptiles.

The second zone is the jungle Kharazeti or the woodlands, where most Vamarans live. It has many trees and plants, and is home to several species of animals, both animal and plant life. This is where most Vamarans live.

The third and least explored is the swamps of Zharadu, which is an area filled with swampy areas and water bodies. This is mostly populated by reptiles like crocodiles, lizards, snakes, and even turtles. Other inhabitants include insects and other small animals. This region is also home to the El’Dalis

Player story:

A goblin engineer/ gnome (alliance) opens an unstable portal to another world, he tries hes best to keep it open but fails and it closes as the (player) along with some others gets pulled in. The player finds himself lost in a thick dust storm that feels like its never ending. He eventually collapses to the ground, but gets eventually dragged away by a strange man.

In the next scene we see the player character is waking up, and we see the strange man cooks food over open fire, “Up so soon? he says” he continues to explain that he is traveling west to find a man who has a bounty on hes head.
After being served the food by this man, he says “You can call me doc, he continues after a brief pauce” You´re not from around here are you? He asks you calmly.

The player tells him the story of what happend, and Doc replies:
“I have heard stories about these worlds that lies between us, but I thought they were just stories.” He then adds: “Maybe there is truth to them after all”
After that Doc explains that he will tell everything the player needs to survive in this barren land and gives the player some simply quests before parting ways.
He also tells the player that if they ever need help or anything else to come visit him at the saloon in town, for daily quests and bounties and promises the player that he’ll do his best to look after the player.

He tells the player about reputation and how important it is to gain a good reputation with townsfolk, so that when times gets hard they won’t turn against you.
or if he decides to live the life of an outlaw he can join the local “gang”, so that he can earn money through dangerous missions and other illegal activities.
He also explains that having a bounty on your head means that you can expect trouble from anyone and everyone.

Lore

The use of guns comes in various forms and became revolutionary amongst the people of Rokukan. These guns were usually made by some form of machinery and powered by gunpowder. The guns and bombs were created by a group of the Vamarans but still most chooses to keep the tradition of using staves and hand to hand combat. Altough the use of guns flourished and has become widespread throughout the drylands, especially after the great apocalypse.

Spec: DPS Gunslinger

Gunslingers are a bold and mysterious lot. While many treat the use of black powder with the same care and reverence that a wizard typically reserves for his spellbook, most gunslingers know better than to let their rivals get too close—the best way to hide your true power is by keeping it hidden from sight. Gunslingers use their skills to fight both the lawless bands who roam the desert wastes and the monsters that dwell there. They rely on their own cunning, guile, and sharp shooting to survive, and they don’t shy away from a good brawl.

Gunslingers often ends up in trouble because of their reputation and often arrogant nature. They are perfect candidates for bounty hunters, due to their quick reflexes and ability to quickly gain information about the target.

Many gunslingers become outlaws and
members of ruthless gangs, but others find themselves working for the authorities instead, taking on contracts to track down criminals and bring them to justice.

That’s already a thing. Look up bounty hunted as I can’t link.

But yes

Careful partner
Those Native American themed Taurens wouldn’t love the idea some cowboys come to take their land
It would be a cultural and historical minefield, trust me

which side is their continent, Are they close to Maelstrom or Kalimdor? is that another Azeroth continent?

Whilst I’d love something around this theme I’m not entirely sure how well it would fit into WoW?

Maybe not an expansion but rather a separate island?
Gunslinger would certainly be a cool spec I love the pistol on outlaw!

For WoW though? Eh I’m struggling to see it fitting in.

Yea, i was thinking that it takes place in a barren island yet undiscovered by us, or the possibility of us traveling to another dimension. Either way, i agree with you i dunno how well it fit into the wow world. Yea i was thinking Gunslinger as a class.

Similar to the Dragon Isles and Pandaria that have been shrounded for 10k years?

and Another thing are that Titans and the Dragon Aspects know much from few lands before the Sundering

It wouldn’t feel more out of place than Pandaria imo. And I think Pandaria felt a bit out of place since they didn’t commit to a theme; one second there’s serene studious monks, traditional China-inspired farmers and warriors… Then all of a sudden you have hillbillies in overalls, ninja Pandaren and the “hilarious” lucky-do mountainmen. So if Pandaria gets to be a thing, I can’t see why a western land couldn’t be.

One of my fav RPGs, Wrath of the Righteous, had a poll during its kickstarter on which of three races to add. Ratmen, catmen or kitsune. Kitsune won. There’s even an ability for adding multiple magical tails and a unique class for it, though sadly only 1 tail shows due to technical limitations.

Wow
Usually the cats won those poll things
Fox poweeeeer!!!

Something like that, they may not attack you. May be a bit much, but you cant interact with them, you cant purchase etc. They will have a orange portrait. When you visit orgrimmar lets say and you are an outlaw, they will say stuff like, “you dont belong here” " Go away scum" or appeared frightened etc. You can pay of your bounty though, but not by gold but another currency.

You see, in this world, there’s two kinds of people, my friend: those with loaded guns, and those who dig. You dig

Well, there’s Westfall…

Did you every play WildStar, this was a very similar premise, and I am not alone in thinking their housing system was the best that’s ever been done in game. Indeed if you are tenacious you can still see some of the plots on you tube…

It actually worked for an MMORPG game narrative, also had a similar cartoony styles to WOW. To be honest I’m all for more diverse elements in game…

and housing, give us housing!!!
